I must also add that the Blue Jays are really not as good as some of the local teams.....our record isn't as good as others and I really think we are living on past laurels......I would be happy if we can upset our first opponent, but I am not optimistic about it.......we are kind of like the Browns and can't wait till next season as our recruitment dept is looking to bring a couple big kids in from Cbus....kind of what Lima Senior did....and they will be family members of some Blue Jay in the past......so there...Go Jays!!!!!
Finally a voice of reason!........hopefully the Jays do well come tournament time. Those 2 future 6’8” kids from Northland should help immensely next year.....a point guard from Ft. Wayne would also help
home to the "Flounder & Rocketman's" Girls HS rankings

What the hell has happened to Putnam County League Basketball??? Used to be that 5 or 6 of the 8 teams were good every single year! What has happened at places like Continental and Miller City and Ft Jennings?? Sad

At schools that small, one or two guys can make the difference between 2-20 and 16-6. Unfortunately it seems that those two guys weren't attending any of the schools you mentioned. I know that Jennings has some good younger classes coming up so maybe they'll turn it around. MIller City is 10-9. I was kind of surprised to see them beat Van Buren Saturday....really the only win that could be remotely considered a "good" win. They beat the teams they should have, lost to a couple they shouldn't have and couldn't do anything offensively against Crestview, Ottoville or Kalida. I guess if 10-9 is looked at as completely awful, you know things have been pretty good for a long time. I can't imagine they'll stay this down for too long. Continental, well, there's not much to say 3-16 and really not even competitive in most of the losses. I don't know what they've got coming up, but they've been down for so long I can't imagine things changing too quickly

DSJ-Kalida seeding is a tossup. Kalida's 5-2 vs the District, DSJ's 4-2. DSJ won at New Bremen, Kalida lost. DSJ won at Van Wert, Kalida lost. DSJ lost at Ottoville with Suever, Kalida won at home without Suever. DSJ won at Lincolnview, Kalida lost. And DSJ just got a "starter" back.
It will be interesting to see who votes for who.
Please your grasping at straws here. Kalida locked 2nd seed up the other week when they beat Ottoville and WT backed to back descicively. Even with Suever it would have closely edged to Kalida. You had a team made up of a core group of upper classmen against under classmen. Also Kalida had 3 road losses in overtime by 3 points or less. The other 2 losses of by top 5 teams in their divisions. Also the New Breman 1 point ot road loss was in week 1 which may as well have been a scrimmage week.
