There have been some big tournaments in lima recently. Is this a sport that people have forgotten about. Did anybody hear about the people from norada lanes winning a majority of the money at the city tournament a few weekends ago. If anyone wants to talk about bowling be my guest. I would appreciate some comments.

My highest score ever came when I was completely obliterated-drunk and tripped over the ball return thing.

My year ended early due to my wife being due this March with #2 and me having to help out with our 3yr old. I was able to share the honor of Putnam County Bowling Doubles Champion Actual with my dad though. We got beat in handicap but I am more proud of the Actual accomplishment. My dad also won all events for this tournament. There are quite a few good bowlers in the Putnam County area so to actually win is a big accomplishment for me. I have bowled with the likes of Don Boyd and Phil Austin from Lima and Jon Daley from Bluffton along with the Schroeder and Meyer boys from Ottawa. My team from Defiance consists of Emilio Mora Sr. with Jr. being a sub and Scott Helberg from Napoleon and my father. If you follow bowling you know I have been fortunate to bowl with some great guys. The best part is I am still at the young age of 30 and have been surrounded by all this wisdom to help me out over the years. I am hoping to get back into it full swing like I used to next season.

I am guessing he is Gary and Nancy's boy. Should of had plenty of time to hang out at the alley if he is. wink.gif

I haven't picked up a ball in a while but I love to bowl. I averaged 159 a couple of years ago, then went a year before bowling again and then average 160 in a summer league. My whole family are bowlers and my dad usually averages over 200 in Defiance. My problem right now is I just don't have time for it while going to school, but hopefully once I get out I can pick it back up and get the average up.

Who is your dad, I have probably bowled against him? I have bowled Monday nights at Holiday for years and sub on Wednesdays some on first shift. Started out at Holidays on Thursdays before the mens league folded due to lack of teams about 4-5 years ago.

I know Don & Betty! Used to date one of their sons (many, many, moons ago).....Heard things haven't turned out so well for him though...... sad.gif
Also, very close to the Boop's, Davis' & Hutchinson's from Lima area who have done fairly well over the years....

Never met any of his sons, just bowled against him in many league and tournaments. I have only got to talk to him 1-2 times this year since I am not bowling as much.

He bowls mostly at Defiance Recreation and up until a few years ago in Paulding. For some reason he's never went out to Holiday for leagues. His name is Tom Keeran. You still may have heard of him, or even bowled against him at some point, he usually goes to city tournament every year.

Heard of the name and seen it in the paper but can't say that I have bowled with him.

I bowled beside Don Boyd last year in the lima city tournament over at 20th century lanes. which our team came in 2nd, this year we came in 1st out at Westgate. Norada lanes bowlers are tearin up the lima tournaments, imo, norada has the toughest lanes around to shoot. Don Boyd is good and ive bowled with phil and john austin, two good players but they havent accomplished as boyd has.

Used to bowl Monday nights at Holiday lanes years ago. Bowled with Dick Hitchcock, Rod Giesige, Jim Heubner, and Scott Hoover (God rest his soul) Tough league with most of the areas best bowlers. Pretty sure we had the most fun especially afterwards in the lounge.

I know that team, Dick is not bowling anymore though. Harold McDougle is on that team with Dave Hoover and Steve Carr. I think they are called Jim Schimdt.

Carr had an 802 in the City League singles tournament. Not bad with a 20 year old ball.

He bowled that on the same shift with my dad. Is that how old that ball is? Final results should be out this week I am guessing. Probably depends on if Charlie gets his work done. rolleyes.gif Steve, my dad ,and I always give each other and Mac a hard time on Mondays.
