As an Ohio State fan it hurts but Coach Tressel should be fired and the five players who have been suspended for five games should be allowed to finish their college education, if they so choose, but they should be dismissed from the team immediately. Ohio State should wipeout the 2010 season as if it didn't happen. Show the rest of the country what is important and what is not.

Yeah, this isn't going to end well I am afraid for Tressel. They can have this press conference, to say this is going to be handled, but in reality, he is going to be fined alot more, and should actually have to sit out the same amount of games as the players who got 5. Why shouldn't he. huh.gif

That is if he doesn't end up resigning to help save the University Face. no.gif

Yeah, this is going on in all colleges, just some coaches, and players are smarter about hiding it.

Your kidding yourself if your college team is an elite D1 program and you don't think they are bending the rules. College's bend rules, like rich people avoid having to pay taxes.
It is only cheating if you get caught. Tressel got caught unfortuanately he got caught lying to the NCAA, which is alot worse the Pryor selling jersey's and rings.
He won't be able to coach at least as long as the players are out, and i am sure the fine will be higher.

Bad judgement on his part, and no one expected it from him.

I for one think Coach Tressel should be given a pass on this one. I believe him when he said he was just trying to
shield his players. The media is blowing this all of of proportion. When everything is all said and done, Coach
Tressel will still be coaching the Buckeyes and he will still be recruiting the best athletes in the country. To compete
against the SEC schools he has had to take chances on some of these elite athletes. Some will pan out and unfortunately
some will be idiots.........I just hope and pray that the federal investigation of the tattoo parlor owner that started
all of this doesn't lead to charges against these athletes for drug distribution or similar........

^^^ Agree...................I also am afraid we may hear more about the players as more details come out about the case against the tattoo parlor owner.Maybe not concerning drugs etc. but that the money given to the players being substantialy more than reported

Mr. Munch is a bigger tool than the host.........he knows nothing more
than what has been posted on hundreds of websites around the
country......remember this, Coach Tressel WINS football games....
OSU hasn't forgot who and how the former coach was replaced before
Tressel came to Cbus......IF they were sure of the Urban Legend
coming out of retirement to take the position they might think of it......

Conventional wisdom says he gets a few more games tacked on, OSU gives up
some 2010 wins, they lose some scholarships, and he makes a public apology...
(one this time that the average joe will believe)........

after that it is back to business.........and folks, that is what it is......A Business
and at OSU it is BIG BUSINESS......what he did went against everything that
he has preached since he arrived......this stuff goes on at all big-time programs....
ALL.......they got caught, they will serve their penalty for getting caught, and in 3-4
years after he puts another couple Big 10 titles, BCS bowl games, etc. in the books, everyone
will forget all about this............zooooom
