Final
Fayette 37
Ayersville 36

I guess Ayersville in bounded the ball with 0.9 left, threw it 3/4 down the court from under its own basket, and made a shot but it was ruled after the buzzer.

I'm still in shock. Perry plays former conference foe Yellow Springs Tuesday at 8

Pics on twitter show the ball out of the Ayersville player's hands before the backboard lights up. Anyone know if the high school rule is the game ends with the horn or the lights?

OK. Although now people are saying the clock didn't start right away either. Unless it's a catch and shoot without bringing the arms down or taking any steps, I just don't see how a shot can get off in 0.9 anyway.

It looks like it was tipped by a video on Twitter, but the clock is still the clock isn't it? Should there be a replay for a situation like this? If there is clear video evidence, it seems like there should be a way to review it and challenge.

Rally, as much as it sucks, the only replay allowed currently in OHSAA is at the state championship game. And I believe that's only to see if a shot went in before a buzzer. Same thing happened to Perry 2 years ago in the sectional final. Just gotta live with ref decision. Nothing can be done.

I saw the full sequence on the Toledo news and it was definitely tipped before the player got possession and took the shot. It was definitely more than 1 second from the time the ball was touched until the ball left the shooter's hands.

Doesn't matter when the backboard lights when on. The referees were quick to determine the clock didn't start when the ball was tipped as it should have. It was the right call.
