Nothing against Brandt Landin as he is a very good player. but didn't he miss a portion of the season? Jace Darbyshire was NWC player of the year and the NWC was much better than the PCL this season.

He sure looked good tonight against McComb out of the BVC.

Sorry but awards are PUTNAM COUNTY LEAGUE not NWC. And Brandt missd a portion of season (3games) because of a cheap shot from USV. Non PCL GAME

Last years baseball honors proved how much of a joke PCL honors are.

Didn't the player from USV that steamrolled Landin go down with an injury early in their sectional loss?

What I meant to say is honors is a joke for almost all sports in almost any league. Check the numbers, check past years in about everything. Some players didn't deserve what they received. In one of the sports a former AD told me that a POY received no votes from 2 schools. Even though these 2 schools decided this player wasn't even worthy of being Honorable Mention the other schools decided that this player was POY material. The list could go on and on.

It has long been tradition that the PCL champs and coach both receive the honors.....

Not arguing about it being a popularity contest. That does not diminish the accomplishments of those receiving the honors. The constant bashing of players, parents, and coaches is getting quite old.
