Jamar is invited to the NBA Tryout Camp [good for him] which starts soon. He has been told by various teams that he SHOULD go in middle of round two. Now, we all know that things are never for sure, but I would love to be in his position. Also, I believe he will start training immediately and has hired people to represent him. Most importantly, he has found a woman to put up with him [LOL] and will be married sometime in May.

Good Luck Jamar. You have represented the Lima area well.

Word of Caution

That most likely came from an agent and there are possibly hundreds of kids that have been told the same thing.

Doesn't Arcadia have an alum that pitches in the Majors????

I believe the Arcadia kid is a LHP named Blevins. He was a September call up last year for Oakland - I believe from AA. He was sent down to AAA late in spring training this year. I haven't heard anything about how he is faring so far this season.

Good luck to Jamar chasing the NBA dream.

Yes Jamar was voted MVP of predraft tourny in Kentucky. I just may have to eat crow as Jamar, I guess according to news reports, lit it up and played great. Prove me wrong Jamar and good luck!

One team has told Jamar that they will take him in second round. But, you know how that is and a cup of coffee is 50 cents.

Farley, Here is a link to an article about the Portsmouth Tourny before it happened. Tried to find some articles about the tourny results but no luck as of yet.

I'm guessing you meant Paul Shuey:

well i would definently like to see Jamar go pro, being i went to same school as him and everything but its doubtful. hes good but if he does go pro he will be on the bench but at least he will make some money. best of luck to him.

Ohio State won the NIT, and was carried by Jamar all season...they went as he went, so does that automatically make him an NBA player, or will he not make it in the draft and go to Europe or something?

A few pros from my local area

Defiance- Scott Taylor Red Sox, Chad Billingsley Dodgers, Sam Hornish JR. IRL Champ/Nascar, Doug Baer Melrose

To add to that, Jon Niese from Defiance is in AA and pitching great. He's one of the top 10 prospects in the Mets organization right now.

I hope Jamar makes it, but I see him going to Europe or the D-league. Doesn't mean he can't eventually make it, but it'll be a tough road.
