I dunno...this forum is the poor neglected puppy in the corner that's gonna get euthanized if someone doesn't adopt it...So, I figured this may be a topic people can post on to save the poor puppy from the "gas box" hooked up to the exhaust of the dog warden's tractor...

So, anyone play in any summer leagues or summer tournaments out there? Or know of any tournaments looking for teams?

Right now, I am only playing one league, as opposed to the many leagues and tournaments I have played in past years. Who knows if I may jump in with something else, but that's what it is for now.

My team is undefeated with another win tonight. I only had like 6 points serving and 6 kills and a few assists and digs, but the team we were playing was a lot easier than expected. Monday night we played a team where I served some 15 points, about 9 of them aces and 6 consecutive to end the game. Throw in a few kills there and it was a good night against a traditionally good team!

So...anyone else out there play in some park leagues, church leagues, Y leagues, SOMETHING...Just trying to give people a reason to post in this forum.

Well, hmm...I figured more people may be jumping on this. Perhaps people just don't frequent the volleyball forum...oh well...

Anyway, another win for my team tonight. Once again dominating fashion, but I had heard the team wasn't too great in the first place, so we weren't expecting too much. Got far enough ahead that our team could kind of goof off. Me and another guy like to have "left-handed serving contests" when we are way ahead (we are both right-handed). The pure irony is that I served the last 7 points tonight and 4 of them in a row were lefty. Should be a tougher game Monday night from what I hear...well, what I hear from the guy I am friends with on the other team...so we shall see how that one goes.

Another win tonight...much easier than expected. I hear from some folks that the game we play Friday is against a team that is pretty good, so we will have to see.

Tonight's team was tough, but we still beat them rather handily. Probably one of the tougher teams we have played thus far, but once we started putting spikes down on them with some great consitency, they kind of wore down and just seemed to stop trying. My serving wasn't quite up to par tonight, but I did serve the final point of the game on an ace, so that's always a good thing. So...yeah...there's the update for the thread I have coddled and made my own.

wonb!! You have been doing a fine job of keeping this thread some company, & I've enjoyed reading how well you & your team are doing.

Keep up the fantastic work!!! Will you guys have tourneys or anything to play in & report your progress?? What's the name of your team? .............or is that too much info going out???? hahahaha!!!!

Another win tonight. Tonight was kind of expected. However, have a game next week against a team that is expected to be, and (for the most part) ALWAYS is good. So, damn, I might have to sweat or dive for a ball or something. Geez...That's just no good! Me moving too much is just NOT GOOD! I like to just stand and serve the ball without having to do much.

Anyway, that's that.

Wasn't too hot today, so not much sweating tonight in another win. I actually had to move for a ball (other than to spike) once, and it was like trying to move a bulldozer w/ a hot wheels car, I tell ya'! Either way, win again. Yee-haw...

Ok, so tonight wasn't so pretty. I had a really long dissertation on things here to post, but I decided to be nice to some choice idiots who don't know which hole of the whistle to blow into to call a foul. In the end, our team won "in the overall", but kind of lost in the sense of "Dude, do you know how to ref a game, or does shoving a whistle up the 'non-sunshiney area' of the folks on the opposing team you refuse to call the infractions on just your way of 'giving them a boost'?" It wasn't pretty, but oh well. Mark a W down and go from there I guess.

Another win tonight. Kind of just a firing squad for us tonight as we were putting down spikes all over the court. Easy win against a team that was kind of down and out on themselves. They are better than they played, but we won so that is what matters. Just keep moving on...

Another win tonight, in the rain might I add. Had to adjust by doing "bump sets" instead of the overhead hand sets, but we managed. Quite a few kills, and only one or two hitting errors on myself. Had a few service errors, but they didn't even matter for the most part. Got good and wet playing and didn't have to dive for a ball, fortunately. So onward we move to the next game.

Great to hear wonb!! Best wishes to you & your team during your tourneys!! I'd say, "Go (fill in your team name here)!!!!" if you weren't so dang secretive!!!

If ever get caught up & put my investigative skills to work, you better cover your trail good! .....I can never see me being caught up with everything & having "free time" so I'm guessing you're pretty safe...

The league I have been consistently playing in culminated tonight. My team won the overall tournament championship. Pretty much smoked the opposition. Got out to a huge lead and then coasted pretty easily from there. Had a few bumps, but wasn't really worried about it ever. So, yeah, couple of lovely trophies for me to kiss for the camera. Yee-haw!
