I currently have a 6-pack of Redd's Apple Ale in my fridge. Will probably get some Leininkugels Summer Shandy next. Every once in a while I'll get Rolling Rock. I'm nowhere near a "beer snob", but I like to try some things once in a while….what are you guys drinking this summer?

Sam Adams or Leinenkugel's if I'm drinking beer. More often than not, it's a bit of whiskey straight up...Jack Daniel's or Maker's Mark.

Been on a Great Lakes binge for a little while. Want to get up to Cleveland and try some Fat Head beer. As you can tell from those 2 selections, I like to try in state micros (even though Fat Heads actually started in Pa). Do not remember the name of the particular beer I was drinking, but a micro brewery in Columbus, The Elevator, has a few VERY good micro beers. FortFan...how do you like Redd Apple....been thinking about getting a 6 pack of it

In my opinion the Summer Shandy is much better out of a tap then a bottle.

No one will mistake you for a beer snob with those choices. Hahaha!

Great Lakes is phenomenal beer. Fat Tire out of Colorado is some good stuff, too, if you can ever find it.

Personally, I don't recommend Redd's Apple Ale. It's not an Ale at all. It's a hard cider. Don't get me wrong, I've had more than a few and it's not bad but guessing by your other tastes I simply wouldn't recommend it to you.

I used to be a bit of a beer snob but just sorta grew out of it. Now I'm back to Busch Light/Bud Light/Budweiser and the occasional Summer Shandys. A far cry from my beer snob days but I enjoy it so I don't much care.

All excellent choices. Do yourself a favor sometime and get a bottle of Gentleman's Jack. It's as smooth as Makers but the flavor of Jack Daniel's. My personal favorite.

I love me a good, cheap, domestic bottle of beer.

Right now, and for the summer, I am on a Miller Lite binge. I figured it tastes okay, plus I can find it anywhere. Any golf course, any bar, any hotel, any vacation spot... pretty much anywhere will have Miller Lite.

Haha-Yeah-funny thing - last Saturday was my wife's class reunion. They had it at Thienmans. Quite a few of the guys were drinking Old Milwaukee Light-at least I'm not still drinking that!!.....Adog-I like the Redd's-it is almost too sweet though.

Keystone Light........it watered down so I can drink a lot of it, plus it is really cheap.

Great Lakes makes several very good beers...doing a brewery tour there later this summer. Oberon, made by Bells Brewery in MI is quite good as well. 312 from Goose Island Brewery is great. As mentioned, Fat Tire is quite good as well but I dont believe it is sold in Ohio...need to make a road trip to the Hoosier state to pick some up.

Go to The Wine Merchant in Findlay, Defiance Beverage Center or Ray's in Lima for very good selections of micro brews & not-so-common beers. Also, do yourself a favor & check out Alexandria's in Findlay...restaurant/bar with a very good selection of micro's and a couple house beers on tap. Venture to guess they have 60+ beers to choose from

IGA in Minster (for the southern RCers) has a Pick 6 where you can pick 6 micro brews. It's nice for trying new beers so you don't have to commit to a 6-pack only to discover you don't really care for it.

Very good Idea......Andersons. when they were in Lima, had this also. If not mistaken, Rays (now Chiefs) picked up the slack for micro/specialty beers when Andersons closed down.......Mo...my favorite Great Lakes is their "Edmond Fitzgerald". Good tasting, potent too.....lol

Kroger on Tiffin Ave. in Findlay does the same thing up here. Never have tried it.

I'm simple (As if that needed mentioning! Lol), Busch regular for me; contrary to my Putnam County family and friends who tend to prefer Busch Light..... But, I'm always open to whatever's on hand....except like Pabst, Old Milwaukee and the like-- I do still have some standards!!! :P :D

Has any one been to Dehavens in Lima. They rented out part of the building in the middle of the store to a beer/wine shop. They have hundreds of different beers. Took me nearly an hour to select two " Beer Baskets" I gave my son and daughter's boy friend for Christmas last year. Sorry cant remember the name of the business. Just go to Dehavens Home and Garden Center, you will see it!

Forgot to mention, if you get the chance stop in to Flat Rock Brewery in Holgate. Locally brewed beer that is quite good. I think they're only open Thurs-Sat but not certain. I've been there a couple times & every beer I've tried has been good. Place is tiny so it fills up fast
