LJ, its jealousy. And it reeks in these forums. Remember how bad Jon Jon got ripped about him not excelling at OSU. He just set the OSU career 3 point mark. And he still has another year left.

Why people cont to critisize a D-1 athlete like aaron i don't get. Im pretty sure from what Matta has done his whole coaching career proves he knows what he is talkin about. I see aaron having no trouble playing in the B-10. Did he not play with one of the best AAU teams and excel while playing with them? Wouldn't everybody he plays against during AAU be a lot of the same people he plays in college? Didn't he get offered by more than one major D-1 college? .......(hint all the answers to these questions are yes) ..... i have no doubt that aaron is a great fit for the buckeyes and will excel. Why don't we all just enjoy what he has done in high school and wish him a successful future as a buckeye.
GO BUCKS!

I allowed a knowledgable person who has played against and watched Aaron many times to post because he was so fired up about the comments made on here against aaron.

LJ

Craft was also offered by Miami(OH) BG and Dayton. The offer from Tennessee is debatable

Conflicting reports as to whether he was truly offered by Tenn. I know for a fact Bruce Pearl called Williman a lot during the recruitment of AC. Hard to tell and doesn't matter.

Gotcha... but I am almost certain I read somewhere (might have been on UT website) that he was offered.

The kid is a MAC player. Not B10. Don't compare him Deblier. Deblier can shoot and is 6-5. Aaron is not a great shooter and is 6-1. He will be a nice role player his junior and senior year.

You know Easton, you're one strange poster on this site. You were the one that stated that Craft's offer from Tennessee was debatable then when you were questioned you finally say it doesn't matter. So, if it didn't matter then why did you even bring it up in the first place? Or is stirring the pot your only motive to be on this site? Oh that's okay, we all already know the answer to that question so don't bother tip toeing around that ????

John Stovall told me he didn't have a Tenn offer.
I don't feel it is an issue because this type of thing goes on a lot in basketball and football recruiting.
The fact that Pearl had a lot of contact with Williman leads me to believe he had a solid offer and committed.

The best, I mean THE best, athletes play in the defensive backfield in college football, and at OSU that is even more true. He has nowhere near the speed or leaping ability to play corner at a major D1 program such as OSU. Those are NFL caliber players in their backfield 7 out of 10 times. This is not a slam on Craft but let's be realistic. #1 He could not play corner at OSU, that's absurd. #2 He isn't big enough to play safety, even more far-fetched.

...not big enough? Aaron is listed at a legitimate 6'1" or 6'2" (Someone from L-B help me out with the height)...Don't know what he weighs but has a frame on which he could easily carry 215-225 lbs...Your losing crediblity with me Easton (if you had any to begin with).

I 1st dunked when I was 5'10" freshman and I was never considered a leaper.
Dunking off the dribble and having a great vert are two different things.

One thing about Craft is that they will be getting a point guard that is going to be there four years . That doesn't happen in major college basketball much these days . I hope Thad Cooper learns how to coach instead of letting his players go wild like a bunch of drunkin sailors as he has done his whole coaching career .

Why is it that everyone critizes Matta? The man has won 20 games EVERY season in his career. 25 or more in all but 2 of those seasons. He's been to a final 4(national championship game in fact), has only missed the tournament twice(once because the program he inherited from O'Brien was on probation, the other he won the NIT), and for a lot of his time at OSU he's had to coach an extremely young team who had to deal with at least one player jumping to the NBA early. When someone has a resume like that, then they can criticize Thad Matta. Til then just be glad OSU is actually relevant in college basketball again.

As for Craft, I don't see him playing a huge role next year, but eventually he'll be a solid player. Think P.J. Hill only better. Once he learns the system and learns to play against better talent, he'll be fine. He doesn't have to be a star or ever get to the NBA. Just don't do anything to hurt the program.

Hey dude, if you're a 5-10 freshman and you're dunking you are considered a leaper. But hey, I can see where you'd be confused. Next time you might want to add that your great dunking skills as a 5-10 freshman were on a 7 foot rim. You see, putting half truths on here without adding all the facts don't always make your words seem accurate.

Who ever played for OG and had a greater career than Aaron Craft. If somebody can come up with that answer then we'd all know who Easton is. Who were the greatest slam dunkers in OG'S history? Maybe we could narrow the search down. rolleyes.gif
