Congratulations to Wapak by soundly beating a solid Tippecanoe club and the right to play for a trip to Columbus and the state finals.
Trotwood Madison is the next in line. TM has had recent success having won a state title and making other trips to the state finals. That was then and this is now. Trotwood has a new head coach with Douglas moving on to Springfield after last year.
TM is athletic and talented but they are beatable. They have come out flat with a lack of focus in several of their games . They have been held scoreless early in a few games. Their QB is a recruit for TTUN and is a dual threat guy but has a completion percentage of less than 50% for the year. An interesting fact for a team that is seen as this strong offensively.
Wapak can make the state finals by continuing to play the way they have been. Play suffocating defense, continue to click on offense, eliminate the penalties and take care of the football.
Go 'Skins!!

If Wapak can play physical up front on both sides of the ball they can win. I think some of the Trotwood faithful are under estimating this team! Wapak has size and speed to compete. Senior leadership and coaching staff will get this team prepared. Can't have stupid penalties or turnovers either. One thing that needs fixed is the snap when Morgan is in shot gun. That throws the timing way off. We will need that extra half second against a fast defense.

I think you're getting ahead of yourself, they would have to beat Trotwood and win one more game to get to the State Finals in Columbus. Good Luck to the 'Skins.

dartmaster's post also sounds like he is trying to talk himself into Wapak beating Trotwood- Madison. I do think it will be an extremely close game, though, Wapak's d will keep them in every game.

Qualifying for the state finals is exactly what I meant. The final four.
The state championship game would be the next step.

I think the Redskins can win if the offense gives 100% every second of the game.

Didn't mean for it to come across that way.
What I beleive and try to talk myself into has no bearig on the outcome of the game
The game will be decided by the players and the coaches on Friday night on the field
But, maybe the Wapak crowd can "help" it seemed to help last Friday.

I think the redskins match up a lot better than they did against TM a few years ago. A way better defense and a more unpredictable offense. TM loaded 8 or 9 in the box because all wapak had offensively was Pickens. Now they can jump into the spread or run play action effectively. I think the defense is a much better scheme and a very talented defense at that. I think the skins continue their historic season and take this one against a very beatable trotwood team. Skins 34-27.

Wapakoneta’s playoff resume:
4-6 (40.0%), 7th playoff appearance

Wapak finished 10-0 in 2014, with a final AP rank of #3, and won its first WBL title since 2006, and first perfect WBL record and 10-0 season since 1986. It added to a school record win total last week with its 12th of the season. For the first time ever, the Redskins are making a consecutive playoff appearance. It is also the first time they have won more than one playoff game in a season, and their first regional final appearance. The WBL’s playoff record is 96-64 (60.0%), which includes 2-5 against current Greater Western Ohio Conference teams, although 0-2 since the GWOC formed in 2001. Wapak has 3 of the 5 losses – 55-9 to Vandalia Butler in a 2000 regional quarterfinal game, 40-21 to Piqua in a 2006 regional semifinal game, and 27-6 to T-M in a 2011 regional semifinal game. WBL teams are 23-4 against 3 seeds in the playoffs, Wapak is 1-0 against 3 seeds. WBL teams are 3-3 against #7-ranked teams in the playoffs, Wapak has never faced one. The Redskins faced two playoff teams in the regular season and won both – 28-6 over 8-2 Bellefontaine and a 15-14 over 8-2 Kenton. Last week, Wapak handled Tippecanoe 28-7 after rolling over Oxford Talawanda 49-14 in the first round.

Wapak’s average playoff score is 23.9 offense and 28.2 defense.
Wapak’s average 2014 score is 30.4 offense and 6.7 defense.

Trotwood-Madison’s playoff resume:
24-8 (75.0%), 10th playoff appearance
2013 Division III State Runner Up
2012 Division II State Runner Up
2011 Division II State Champ
2010 Division II State Runner Up
1981 Division II State Runner Up

Trotwood-Madison finished 9-1 in the regular season, and 5-0 in the GWOC North Division, good enough for first place. It went 2-1 against other GWOC teams, the only loss being to Division I 10-0 Centerville, which was upset in the first round of the playoffs. The Rams finished 7th in the AP poll, the 4th straight year it has finished ranked, with 3 of those being top 10, is running a streak of 6 consecutive playoffs, and has reached the state title game 4 years in a row with 1 title. That’s a 21-4 playoff record in the last 6 years, I can’t imagine more than Marion Local and maybe Coldwater have a better percentage in the state during that time. The combined record of GWOC North teams is 57-37 (60.6%), with T-M & Piqua doing much of the damage. T-M’s record against the WBL in the playoffs is 1-0, with that 2011 win against Wapak. The Rams faced just one playoff team in the regular season, a 21-14 loss to Division I #2 Centerville, before having no trouble with Western Brown (55-13) and Bellbrook (41-6) in the last two weeks.

T-M’s average playoff score is 32.6 offense and 18.4 defense.
T-M’s average 2014 score is 39.6 offense and 13.9 defense.

yes. Yesterday they were inside since I drove by at 3 and did not see them out. I'm somewhat certain that they will have practice but i cannot remember what the player I talked to last night said about today.

This is possibly Wapak’s best team ever (certainly its best in the last 30 years), and one of the best WBL defenses in the last couple decades too, probably. But T-M still competes well with a tougher schedule. I think Wapak can win but it’ll have to be error free and take advantage of everything it can get.

Had to laugh when I read this I posted something like this on facebook and one of the kids from the 2006 team didnt agree. Both teams are mirror images of each other but the 2006 team only had Tuttle for a handful of games and that kid could run.

As I said before. This is the best defense that I have seen for the Redskins. We have alot of talented kids on both sides of the ball and each one of them is going to have to give 100% for the whole game.

This is going to be the toughest test they have faced all year but one thing this team has heart and a strong bond.

Wapak can/will win if a couple of things happen..

1. turnover battle MUST be won
2. run the ball effectively
3. prevent more than 3-4 big plays...speed kills
4. penalties to a minimum
home to the "Flounder & Rocketman's" Girls HS rankings
