Wow, hadn't heard anything about this. Good pick up. If the kids will work hard and do what he says, they'll be successful.

Tried to get Coach Schulte a few years back and now they have gotten a Recker. Van Wert finally gets a St John's grad to lead their football team. Hope to see him get that program back to winning ways.

Is the new coach the son of legendary defensive guru "Peanuts" Recker?

I think there is a real good chance that Peanut would go......Peanut is a die hard Blue Jay......but family would probably come first and although there would be many disappointed in Blue Jay country, most would understand!!!

Awesome choice. Great coaching seems to run in the Recker blood. Good luck to the Cougars

Looks like a good hire.

If this guy's dad was the DSJ DC, then I'd guess he'd either be coaching or significantly improving the defense over there at VW.

Coaching in the WBL is getting better and better. If the older coaches stick around for a few more years, the ovreall quality of this league should be pretty impressive.

I think the world is about to end! Bigdogg actually saying something nice about a DSJ alumni leads me to believe the end is near. Hope he can help VW get back to winning ways.

Well the world is scheduled to end this year:) Being an old VW grad I really have very little negative to say about St. John's. As a matter of fact between cruising the Delphos Main Street and all the Homecoming victory dances after our football games, I have nothing but great memories during my time as a Cougar.

Now I know a few of you Blue Jays may be still upset for Van Wert kids dating some of your pretty coeds, but you just need to let it go! As for my opinion on completive balance, no way in he double toothpicks St. Johns should ever be placed with the rest of the public D-6 schools in football. And for the record, I hope they continue to win state championships in D-5.
