The team you forgot was Ottoville which i think only lost one kid from last years team, Basinger maybe?. Agreed Kalida will be decent but grove, and pandora both have lost alot of talent since last spring. I think that the league will have a good race between a few teams this year

So...Just curious...How has grove lost a lot of talent? They lost one playin in Adam Osterhage? I didnt know that one player made that team be PCL champs and NWC runners up. I mean they have 8 of the starting 9 back.

I would think Grove would be the front runner in both leagues. With Bogart and Hovest pitching and alot of good solid hitters back. WOW biggrin.gif

I would agree that Grove would be the front runner in the PCL. The NWC looks pretty good with Delphos Jefferson and Crestview having solid teams.

It has to be tough to play competitively in two leagues. What Grove did last year was really good. I think it will be tough to repeat a PCL title and a runner up in the NWC.

What are some projections on end of the year in order of the PCL
1Kalida
2Ottoville
3Columbus Grove
4Pandora
5Miller City
6Jennings
7Leipsic
8Comtinental

My 2 and 3 were a toss up btw ottoville and grove both teams had a good Summer team

I am not sure how much weight can be put on a good ACME season. Obviously if a teams wins a lot they have a chance of being good. But remember, some of the best players in the county may have been playing legion therefore taking a little away from their respective teams.

Well i agree with that i am just sayin that i just wanted to see some pre-season predictions

I agree lots of top league players did play legion but there are still other guys that have to play also that is my take on it

if you would go by solid ACME teams last summer, miller city went 18-2. ottoville being one of their run-rule victims. can't go by ACME at all

I think ACME can be used as somewhat of a measuring stick , but I would not predict league titles based on what happened the previous summer.

One good pitcher can keep a team competitive in the league. That is why it is so tough for Grove, Leipsic and Pandora to win in both. Every night seems like a league night.

Teams like Grove did not have their ace most of the summer. They are really good with Bogart pitching and he did not pitch much for them this summer.

If you could put a top league players team together in the PCL who would be in the starting line up?

That's a good question! However, maybe some posters can list their local team's top returning players to help jog some of our memories. So, posters, please only list your team's top returning players.

Brentwood, You are into Rocket baseball, so tell us, why aren't kids going out for the team. Word is they only have 11, had to beg a couple kids to go out and will have to start 3 or 4 freshman. There is a long list of good baseball players who played when they were young so why don't they go out now? Is it to much demand from the other sports and they are burned out? Or is there something else? Whatever it is someone needs to step up and do something NOW! before it's to late. Looking forward to hearing some opinions and seeing some changes in the future.

Yes I have an opinion as to what is going on in Rocket land, but as my wife and kids tell me it doesn't matter what I think, I was hoping others would share their thoughts. Maybe this trend is at other schools also, with smaller class sizes and more demand from other sports. Maybe it is only P-G. Thats what I would like to hear.

The only weight you can put on ACME is the tournament when Legion pitching returns. How did Ottoville and Miller City do in the ACME tournament?

Miller City lost to Bath in the second round. I think it is Districts in Acme.

3rd round in ACME would be state.

I don't think Ottoville got that far. I may be wrong.
