Can Kalida pull the upset against the undefeated Bulldogs?

After Kalida beats Edgerton. Most people will not be calling it an upset. If Edgerton would have played Kalida's schedule they would not have went undefeated.

I have to agree. The GMC is not near as strong as the PCL. Edgerton would not have ran the table in PCL.

Not sure anyone gave Pettisville much of a shot against Kalida and it went OT.

Kalida finished 3rd in the PCL this year and they should be favored over an undefeated GMC team.

Kalida wus lucky to finish 3rd. It coud of bein lower. They r most overated team in the area. Therfore I take the polecats from Edgertun by 3.

I say Kalida can pull off the upset. Edgerton has shown a weakness in their free throw shooting in the last two games and I think it will hurt them. In their sectional final vs Holgate they missed their free throws down the stretch in the 4th and blew a 10 point lead that almost cost them the game. Edgerton was also giving more minutes to a freshmen because of an injury Tuesday night. Will the freshmen playing cause probelms for Edgerton? Its a bad time of year to have to give playing time a jv player.

Will Kalida win? Depends which team shows up.

1) Kalida has impressive wins over div II Van Wert (14-6) 61-40, over C Grove (16-4) 50-39, St. Henry 57-50,..... but the loss to Ft. Jennings, albeit only by a point, is a black eye for sure.

2) Kalida's losses to Archbold (15-5) in OT and Leipsic (16-4) in 2OT's are respectable, as are Ada by 4 and Ft. Recovery by 7

3) Kalida also played 4 teams from the GMC and won all 4 games: Fairview 56-40, Ayersville 57-25, W. Trace 49-43 and Tinora 52-39. Edgerton of course also beat those teams: Fairview 59-39, Ayersville 62-45, W. Trace 64-58 and Tinora 47-43

4) While Kalida loaded up their nonconference schedule with teams like Van Wert, Ada, St. Henry, Ft. Recovery, Tinora, Archbold,.... Edgertons non converence schedule of Montpelier, Fayette, Liberty Center, Swanto, Fayette, Edon, Hilltop, North Central doesn't quite compare, but they did get a 10 point win over Delphos St. Johns.

5) Defiance Crescent picks Kalida

6) In the end though, Edgerton is undefeated and ranked in state. And beating Holgate twice in one season is no easy task either. Should be a great game.</sub>
