Lima-

Green Meadows Conference foes squared off Friday night at Lima Stadium as
Wayne Trace looked to avenge a 27-16 loss to Tinora, their only loss of
the season. The Raiders would have none of it as they wasted no time
getting on the board. Wayne Trace returned the opening kickoff to the 21
yard line and scored on the first play from scrimmage on a 79 yard pass
from raider senior

QB Colby Speice as he connected with senior WR Korbin Showalter. Spiece
would then connect on the PAT to Darian Asher- Layman for a 2 point
conversion. Tinora would then return the ball to the 36 and after a 6 play
drive the rams were forced to punt. Wayne Trace took over at their 16 and
ran 4 plays before an apparent touchdown was called back for offensive
pass interference. 4 plays later the Tinora would recover a Wayne Trace
fumble and strike with a halfback pass to Sean Durre down to the 15.
Tinora's drive stalled and the rams were forced to attempt a 27 yard field
goal that was no good. Wayne Trace then took over at the 20 and QB Colby
Spiece ran three times for 31 of his 92 yards rushing on the evening, on
the 4th play of the drive Spiece would connect with Showalter again for a
49 yard TD and a good 2 point PAT for a 16-0 Wayne Trace lead. After a
return to the 36 Tinora would then run 3 plays for their first and only
score of the game, a 35 yard TD run by Ram RB Riley Nagel, who finished
with 154 yards on the night, to make the score 16-7 at the end of the
first quarter.

Wayne Trace was just getting warmed up as they ran an 11 play drive that
culminated with Spiece's 3rd TD pass of the night to Jake Arend, the 2
point PAT to RB Jared Sherry was good making the score 24-7. The Raiders
never looked back as Jake Dingus intercepted the Rams QB on the first play
of the drive. 3 plays later Spiece would strike for his 4th TD of the half
to Korbin Showalter to make it 32-7 after a good 2 point PAT to Jake
Gerber. Showalter would finish with three TD catches and 210 yards on 6
receptions. Tinora would run 6 plays until the drive stalled in Wayne
Trace territory. The raiders then ran 8 plays until turning the ball over
on their 2nd fumble of the game. Tinora would run 4 plays until halftime
and the score stood at 32-7.

In the 2nd half Wayne Trace would only attempt 3 passes as the raiders
moved the ball on the ground and played stout defense against Tinora. The
final TD in the game came on a 2 yard TD run by Spiece and a 2 point PAt
to Jared Sherry. The fourth quarter featured the two teams trading
possessions as Wayne Trace punted for the only time in the game, a 54
yarder.

The Raiders will now look to next Friday with a matchup with the 9-3 Ada
Bulldogs at a site to be determined. The Bulldogs are members of the
Northwest conference and come in to the contest with wins over fellow NWC
members Delphos Jefferson and Crestview, who the bulldogs beat tonight by
the decisive score of 35-0.
