Don't like to rain on a team's parade, I like to equate success more to what's the norm at that school. By those standards, Perry is having a fantastic season. I'm not sure they'll make a long tournament run, but then again we make way too much out of teams "going to state". If your school rarely wins a sectional and district and they win one, then it's like winning the state. This is certainly one of the best Perry teams in recent history.

Mysteryman...you need to stop. Vermillion and Arlington are class personified. They ARE one of the top small school programs in the state. To suggest otherwise, or feign ignorance, only diminishes any and all opinions you hold about small school basketball in Ohio. Anyone with a basic understanding of NW Ohio basketball KNOWS what Vermillion and Arlington have accomplished...and continue to accomplish today.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Absolutly right.
And the Perry team this year might just get it done.

To say you've only ever heard of Leipsic, McComb, LB Jackson Center, Marion Local, Crestview says a lot about your opinion of Arlington. It's pretty obvious to me you are just trying to bash on Arlington and/or talk smack before the tournament. If you look in the recent past, Leipsic has had some success, but before that, when? McComb? You also fail to include Kalida, Fort Jennings, Delphos St. Johns, Toledo Christian in your list and they've all been very solid in years past and people talk about these teams... To say you you usually only hear about those six teams means you need to talk to other people or get out more.

Northwest Ohio has some excellent programs, rich in tradition. Is Arlington's the best? No, not by a long shot, but trying to discredit any team is unacceptable. I look for Crestview to continue rolling and look for USV to make some noise.

I hope your spelling of the word loose opposed to lose was to mock Mysteryman, :) and Perry and Arlington beat MC by almost identical scores. 58-53 and 60-55, in the same week no less. I think if you could throw Arlington, Perry and USV into a hat and doesn't matter who you pull out, all 3 are nearly identical teams. What are Arlington's weaknesses and strengths?

I was wrong. Arlington didn't win state in 2012. They lost in the semis that year
Arlington girls won the state championship that year-2012. The boys lost in the semifinals the next weekend. Both Arlington girls and boys played Berlin Hiland at state. Bet that was a fun experience for them. St. John's has had the girls and boys both get to the Final Four in the same season 2 times-1983 & 2002. It's fun going back and forth between the boys regional and girls state games one week and then back to Columbus for the boys state tournament the next week. Also very tiring. USV, DSJ and Marion Local still the only schools in Ohio to have the boys and girls basketball teams win state championship in the same season. USV in 94, DSJ in 2002 and Marion Local in 2003. And Perry could have a magical run in them this year, you never know.

It IS "THE" MAC... I think we must address and refer to them as we fans of OSU refer to the Bucks as, "THE"' OSU.
It's quite the notable accomplishment! :D
