The thing that people don’t take into account is that it does take basketball talent, and understanding to know what’s best for the team. Coach Smith at FSW had convinced these kids that it’s in the team’s best interest to forgo shots, not force the action, and stick with the game plan of getting the ball to Troike as much as possible. Much easier said than done. Most basketball failures consist of kids doing more than they are capable of doing. Taking shots “just because your open” isn’t always the best shot.
FSW has beaten some of the best teams/ best coaches in NW Ohio the past few weeks, and I’m sure those teams did everything they could defensively vs. FSW. The other thing to consider is FSW plays great defense themselves. To keep the scores low, you have to be able to handle the ball against pressure and play defense, two things they apparently do well.

As far as what they do to win games. Ya it may work for the most part. I didn't think Ottoville played well defensively and could have done a lot more different things to help them win the game so I'm not so convinced they gave it their best effort and to be honest maybe it was just finally their time after all the great basketball they played to beat good teams like Crestview, Kalida, and New Riegal teams they were not suppose to beat. But for the most part, I do agree with you about doing what's best for your team to win. If it works, why change? But for FSW, if teams are able to adjust, I just hope FSW coach knows how to adjust for his team otherwise it could get ugly because from what I saw other than 52, none of them girls looked comfortable at hitting a consistent shot outside the paint. And they will need to do that to win state. I do wish them luck though.

33 points, 17 rebounds, 5 blocked shots. What does she have to do to be considered a superstar?
Today she was named AP Div IV co-player of the year in Ohio. Not bad for a sophomore.

Also, with the likes of Wake Forest, Penn St, and all the MAC schools looking at her it would be safe to say she is indeed a
superstar.....

When I think of a superstar I think of someone who is well-rounded in every aspect of the game. Someone who can shoot, handle the ball relatively well, etc. Someone who shines and can beat you any which way.

I agree with BVCgrad that Shaq was undeniably a superstar. He had zero shooting ability (even on FTs), but he changed the game.
I'll go with the very simple adage of: A superstar drastically affects the way the game is played. I'm not talking about a 3pt or defensive specialist/role player. When someone steps on the floor, they drastically change the way both teams adjust their game plans. Troike 100% does this. Especially in the tournament, no team has yet to contain her — Her offense aside, she blocks/disrupts nearly every shot 5-7' in.
