Why were the Temple Christian players snubbed? I noticed there were NO District awards for any of them. Certainly at least one of them deserved some recognition? What happened?

A coach has to nominate his own players at the District meeting in order for those players to be recognized. I asked the same question (thinking at least Link would get some sort of recognition) and was told Temple's coach didn't even show up to the meeting. No fault but his own that Temple's players didn't get any hardware...

Link is a Junior so he wouldn't be on this senior team...

Although I would think one of their seniors....Sutton or High or White in particular would get some recognition.

I believe that he did the same thing last year. Some coaches never went to the meetings when I coached (Ottoville) and it hurt everyone, especially PCL teams. Some coaches dont push the idea of awards.

Probably because it's all politics.

I wanna know how Jon Hayfield gets coach of the year in his own league, yet, Tom Swaisgood gets coach of the year in the Northwest District.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this years game a success! Monte Brandeen for announcing the games, Rod Wagner for working the gate, Doug Rohrs and Terry Potter for officiating the game, The Silk Screen Shop for the t-shirts, Team Sports for the plaques, BCSN for broadcasting the matches, Findlay High School for allowing us to use the facilities, and NWOSSCA for sponsoring the event. Congratulations to all of the players and coaches and see you all next year!

Bill, NCOSA like the WBL (I believe) just awards it to the coach of the league champ. Since the District has no restrictions, it could go to Tom. That and non-NCOSA teams get a say as well. As for having his nom form filled out ahead of time...?!?!?!
