No it's "Amos Moses" by Jerry Reed.

But "Patches" always makes me choke up when he starts talking about "One day a strong rain came and washed the crops away, and I felt like I was carrying the weight of the whoooole world on my shoulders" He sang those lines like a Southern Preacher. Makes me verklempt every time I hear it, lol

Since you started with "country" that was a hit when you were still in high school, I'll start with this……..

Where Oh where are you tonight
Why did you leave me here all alone
I searched the world over and I thought I found true love
but you met another and phhbtt you were gone.

Let's not forget that the title song to Iron Butterflys only hit, "Inna Godda Davida" was supposed to be "In The Garden of Eden". A lyric so misunderstood that they left it that way, lol

Lyrically, Mumford and Sons and the Avett Brothers are pretty "deep". So naturally, when it comes to meaningful lyrics, that's where my head goes.

"In these bodies we will live. In these bodies we will die. Where you invest your love you invest your life." ~~Awake My Soul, Mumford and Sons

"We'll be washed and buried one day my girl.
And the time we were given will be left for the world.
The flesh that lived and loved will be eaten by plague.
So let the memories be good for those who stay."

~~Winter Winds, Mumford and Sons

"Always remember there was nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name." ~~Murder in the City, The Avett Brothers

Any parent of a little girl will appreciate this one:

"When I'm in my sweet daughters eye
My heart is now ruined for the rest of all time.

There's no part of it left to give.
There's no part of it left to give.
I never lived 'til I lived in your light,
My heart never beat like it does at the sight,
Of you baby blue, God blessed your life.
I do not live 'less I live in your light.
I do not live 'less I live in your light."
~~ A Father's First Spring, The Avett Brothers

And the song I wish we would have played for our first dance on our wedding day...

"Sleep with one eye open, clutching the pillow tight." Enter Sandman. Metallica
"Forget the hearse 'cause I'll never die." Back in Black. AC DC/MS, lol

It's time to go home now
And I've got an aching head
So I give her the car keys
She helps me to bed
And then I tell her
As I turn out the light
I say my darling, you were wonderful tonight
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight

In Peter Wolf's (J Giles Band) Come As You Are, he hops through a town throughout the whole song. I strained a quad just watching it.
