Big win for Elida in an extremely physical game at OG. Unbelievably awful officiating. I don't think it changed the outcome as Elida played one heck of a game on both ends....but it's guys like those two that keep people from watching (or playing) HS soccer. Easily the most inept job of officiating I have EVER seen on a soccer field.

Really? Didn't Kenton have some Red Cards earlier in the year?

Really? You think when it comes to a player choosing what sport to play, they're deciding on which sport has the better officials? If so, then they're playing for the wrong reasons anyway...

In all the official bashing, I missed what were the players sent off for? Are they using the 2 man system in the tourney?

It's 2-man for sectionals (due to the number of teams still playing), then districts typically have the 3-man system.

There's the problem. 2 man outside of rec/small sides is just plain dumb. Whistles are too far away from the action, lack of consistency, ect.

Gview....or an AD would have stepped in, but that's clearly not happening.

If anyone can find a recap of the game, could you post it here? Celina doesn't appear to have much by way of a newspaper....

I strongly agree with this, but unless there becomes a sudden increase in HS officials, I don't see it changing. Despite pay & love of the beautiful game, who really wants to get yelled at by ignorant parents/fans & overly argumentative coaches/players who don't truly know the rules themselves?

If someone is reffing for the money, they are in it for the wrong reason(s). I ref because I enjoy it and have fun with the coaches and the kids. If the parents don't like the way the game is officiated, they should get off their behinds, take a few classes, invest some money in uniforms, shoes, equipment, and come join the fun. Otherwise they have no room to complain, and I don't care what they say to me. Most parents are actually very nice and I have fun talking to them as well. It's the one's who have control issues, and maybe think they know the rules, that have their issues. I have no use for that type.

Congrats to the teams that have moved on. For those who did not move on, congrats on completing your seasons. Hopefully you have gained some skills and memories along the way.

I guess the St Marys coach found out that Celina really did want to play them again in tournament. Comments he made after the first game came back to bite him a little?
