I'm looking for the Kenton/Tri Way Game. But I'm also interested in catching the other d IV matchups... Does anyone know if this and other D IV games will be televised and if so what channels?... I have DirectTV.

Stupid that two stations would air the same game. One should air Tinora vs Wayne Trace

WOSN and WTLW are basically the same station, they can only cover so many games.

They always have different games on. Seems odd. Especially since the WT-Tinora game is in Lima. They had different games on last week and 7 pm games on Sat and Sun night.

WT or Tinora would not be in their "local" viewership... They only do the games for their local viewers. They do a great job of covering local HS sports.

WT should be in their local viewing. Everybody watches it over there in Payne and Grover Hill. One of the first time they ever did basketball was with WT in 91 on the road to state.

It'll be on tape delay this week... Ada's had 6 games: Spencerville, both Jefferson games, both Crestview games, and LCC that I can remember...

I agree with C Town...they have the scores from the GMC on the ticker every Friday, why not cover that huge game?

Just because the game is in Lima doesn't mean it appeals to the vast majority of their viewers...
They went to Fremont to do an Arlington game so it has nothing to do with where the game is played.

But it does make sense to show different games. It might not appeal to the vast majority, but the could pick up the minority that ddin't want to watch the Ada/Crestview game. It's better to have a chance at the whole pie than guarantee you only get part of the pie. The game being in Lima just makes it easier.

There is so much that goes into the games. Defiance does not have WTLW or WOSN on their cable. WTLW/WOSN has to be able to cover some of the cost. Just because it is played and watched does not mean the viewers/businesses want to help cover the costs. WTLW/WOSN receives very little support from the Defiance, Paulding area. Paulding does not receive WTLW/WOSN on their local cable nor does the Defiance area. We are only received via antenna. We have staff to cover highlights but to air a game in its entirety is very costly and when we cannot cover costs it does make a difference on what games air. We air some games on both channels because we want to give as much airtime to these schools/programs as possible.

WOSN is not the same as WTLW. WTLW is mainly christian programming with some sporting events airing.

WOSN is all sports with no christian programming. We air volleyball, baseball, football, bb, track, specialty shows, etc...

Thank you so much for all the support. If you have questions on why we do not air certain games please feel free to call the station. We will be happy to answer any questions you have.

WOSN nor WTLW are on Directv.

It is just not that simple to cover a game. There is a lot more that goes into an airing than just picking games and airing them. Please read my post that hopefully will explain why we air the games that we air. We would love to air all the games. But again it just is not that black and white.

Thanks for the clarification nothalfbad. I didn't realize Paulding and Defiance don't carry WOSN/WTLW. They are missing out on the great job you guys do carrying local high school sports. Keep up the good work.
Maybe the fans in this area should call their local cable provider and get you guys on their systems.

No problem. Actually Defiance supporters have contacted their local cable system. The way I understand it is ,TW in that area partners with a christian station out of the Toledo area. Partnering with us may have adverse affects on their partnership. Most viewers in that area watch us via internet. I am sure some viewers can see via antenna. But most watch us via internet. We have a huge support system in the Defiance area. But none that will cover us airing a game.

I agree that they are missing out. Same way with the Paulding area. It is really unfortunate. We are an anomoly. How we impact communities and all the things we air/cover is not done anywhere else in the country. Thanks to all our supporters who continue to watch/support our efforts and the local programs.

Interesting. We used to get WLIO but were completely cut off from the rest of the WBL when it was dropped several years ago. I'd much rather watch Lima area sports than Toledo. Do these Lima stations stream on the internet live or is it posted the next day as an archive?
