Great week of BB for Ottoville fans. Wish I could be there. Merry Christmas all.
Von, Merry Christmas to you and I hope to get down to Ottoville for a game soon. My friends have said the dunks have been good.

Been a huge struggle for us on and off the court.

Elida is up 26-17 at half against VB....very ugly game. Van Buren is an athletic group but I expect Elida to pull away in the 2nd half.

Well, the matchup is set for Friday night as Elida (7-0) and Ottoville (7-0) both took care of business last night. I think this game will be much closer than some might expect as the Bulldogs looked terrible last night at home against Van Buren. I would say this will be a low scoring contest.

Aside from that, Lima Senior lost last night by 24 points, which gives them 3 losses already on the year. Elida makes the short trip to Lima Senior after Christmas.

Its really hard to take a thread like this serious before Christmas Break just not enough ball has been played yet. Ottoville has only played one team that has a record of .500 or better.

Nobody is saying they are state caliber team. But they are playing pretty good no matter who they have played so far. The real tests will be the next few weeks. It’s not so much about if they can beat teams like Elida DSJ or Crestview but how they do competively. It’s been a while since we have talked about Ottoville boys basketball on a positive note and I think they are a good team. The next few weeks will determine just how good. But I will say this, if the younger kids can stay at it and motivated they will be really good in a few years.

Mysterio, let's put it this way....if Ottoville keeps it within 10 points against Elida this coming Friday, I would say that is a huge success. Elida has 5 seniors starting with 3 other seniors on the bench. The Bulldogs will be near the top of a very competitive WBL so if the Big Green can keep it close, that's a good sign for things to come.

I am not saying they should be ranked in baseballer4life's poll......but how about Ft. Jennings? Under new coach Ryan Schroeder the musketeers may be the most improved team in the area, with two 20 pt. wins and a big win over Crestview last night as well as a close loss at undefeated Ottoville.

The only problem with that, is right now they are 3-2 and lost badly to a mediocre Arlington team to begin the season. If they can find a way to beat undefeated Ayersville Friday night, then it's a different story. There are several teams that we could talk about as being considered for the weekly list. For instance, I think Kenton has surprised some people with their 5-1 start. However, if you look at their schedule it might be the worst in Ohio if I'm being honest.
For right now, I would say the 6 teams on this list are the best, based on who they have played so far. In two weeks, i'm guessing 1-2 of these teams will no longer be on the list....GOTTA LOVE SPORTS!!!

Sounds like there are "issues" at Lima Senior. Quincy is cracking down on grade problems and other troubles. Kids have been left home from games....suspended, etc. Some parents aren't taking well to this new policing of their kids and aren't happy with Q for ramping up the penalties for screwing up. Sounds like they also had a couple guys miss last night with the flu.

Well in regards to that, I credit Quincy for standing up and doing what's right. Kids anymore are beyond rude and irresponsible, and let's be honest, that school isn't exactly known for its educational values. His job is beyond basketball...his job is to help those young men become mature adults in hopes to have a bright future.

Guys...don't get me wrong....I wasn't in any way saying that what Q was doing was a bad thing. He absolutely should be helping those kids in more than just being basketball players. I commend him for it. Just stating what I had heard from a couple friends with knowledge of the LSH program

Crestview is overrated thus far this year. I thought they would be much better but i was wrong. The offense is bad. Just not there.

Rankings don't mean anything, anything can happen on any given night. If the better team comes in and plays bad to a decent opponent they can get beat. Most teams strive to get better every day, league titles, and Tournement run who cares about rankings in basketball everyone is in the tournament!
