This region looks to remain one of the weakest regions in Ohio. Tonight was a perfect example as only 7 of the 25 teams that played this evening came out on top. Some of the teams that won; Danbury, North Baltimore, and Pandora Gilboa, are teams that will likely only win 3 games tops this year. So, you can throw those teams out of the playoff conversation.

Last year we had two teams with 6 wins (DSJ, Calvert) make the playoffs from this region. That is likely to happen again, with maybe even 5, dare I say a 4 win team sneaking in this year. What is everyone's opinion on this region. McComb seems to be the team to beat again, along with maybe Leipsic?

As of right now, even after a horrible week from SJCC, Calvert, DSJ, etc. I see the top 8 teams looking like this (In no specific order):

McComb
Arlington
Leipsic
SJCC
DSJ
Calvert
Edon
NSP

Thoughts?

McComb will have a very good team every couple years, but with that cupcake schedule they plays they should make the playoffs every single season.

The only nitpicking I can make towards McComb tonight, is a couple of the turnovers they had and their poor kicking game. McComb had a couple of bad snaps out of the shotgun formation (one led to a turnover) and they threw an INT in the red-zone. Also, there kicking game is very poor. I'm not sure they made one XP all night, and all they do is squib on kickoffs. However, everything else looked pretty solid.

LB/Leipsic/and Arlington should all give them a pretty good game this year. No matter if there schedule is easy or not, credit needs to be given to Coach Alge as he's 134-42 at McComb now as a head coach.

That is funny Cal.....it sounded like Liberty-Benton tonight. Bad snaps, some poor kicks, a pick in the red zone, 2 to 3 turnovers.........

Not sure about playoffs, but Pandora Gilboa will win more than 3 games.

Sounds like they held down a Wynford team that usually puts up some pretty good numbers though. I don't want to sound overly harsh on these kids, as everyone has those early season jitters in week one.

1. McComb has a cupcake schedule? Last time I checked, Tiffin Calvert, Liberty Benton, Leipsic, and Arlington all have respectable programs.

2. I too believe PG will win more than 3 games. I would even venture to say 6 wins. They have a pretty decent squad this

3. i would say Leipsic, McComb, Arlington, DSJ, SJCC and Tiffin Calvert are a pretty good top 6 teams. How many regions have more than that?

I think Leipsic is overrated this year. I saw the stats in the paper. They were outplayed by HL, but 5 turnovers cost HL the game. Or at least that is what it looks like. ?

With Leipsics QB I will never say they're overrated........ Leipsic did win right? Maybe give Leipsic some credit for some turnovers. That is a goal of most defenses.

DSJ might be one of the top six teams in the region but with a brutal schedule, winning enough games to make the playoffs will be very difficult.

Schedule or not.......I was not impressed and if they don't win enough games, then they do not deserve to get in.......even in 7 divisions.........time to toughen up!!!!!!!!!

The team is very young and inexperienced aside from MacLennan and Jettinghoff, really. They will find their rhythm.

They will need to find their rhythm soon. LCC, St. Henry, Coldwater, Anna, and Marion Local are the next (consecutive) games.
The good news is, Region 24 only has a few teams that I would call a lock for the postseason. The rest are all really bad, so DSJ might be playing in week 11 with a 4-6 record if it comes down to it.

Interesting comment. HL had 10 more yards of offense than leipsic. How do u outplay somebody when you cant take control of the ball . HL scores 2 TD in final 4 minutes against A JV defense,
