Um.....what? :coffee:

Anyways Browns have some tough competition coming up here in the next 6 games. They end this tough stretch with the Bengals and Steelers which are winnable games for them but I could see Cincy winning this time around seeing how they normally split but the Steelers game they can take.

One thing I will say and I am not even a Browns fan is that for the sake of the Browns, they should not trade Josh Gordan. I know there have been talks and that the Browns have made it clear they have no desire to trade him at this point but perhaps that is because they have not received the right offer? Who knows. But in my opinion, I think it is their best interest that they keep this guy.

Yeah, I will be upset if the Trade Gordon. He is the best offensive receiver we have. And with Cameron, we actually have someone that can catch Which has anyone thought it strange the guy that was last year 50/50 on catching a pass is returning kickoffs. AND that is my fear as well. The Browns will take Johnny football!!!! Who still thinks a Hail marry is a play you use anytime you feel lucky.

With my being a burly child, the Seesaw or Teeter Totter was always a confirmation of the need for weight loss. While baggy jeans and large t-shirts helped conceal the truth, the seesaw told no lies. When a lighter kid would get on the other end, I felt like a hot air ballon with not enough air in it, bouncing along the ground, lol.

Browns will take Johnny football with what pick? They are on pace for two first round picks outside of the top 15. I think Johnny is taken in the top 10. Unless they trade both those picks and something else for a higher pick but then would that really be worth it?

Well look at the teams at the bottom. alot of those teams have their QBs or just took a QB. BRowns have won three games so far, but they do get into a tough stretch Other than a steeler game, and the Jags, not sure with The way Weeden has been playing, they can score enough to win to many more games. They could easily be 5-11 by the end of the season. AS much as I would like them to still be at the top of the division. They play Detroit, KC, Packers, RAvens next 4 games. Don't see them winning those if they can't score.

I like the Oregon QB, Marcus Mariota. With the offense they run, you have to be smart and make good choices, and he has the build 6'4" 211 lbs. I still think with the number of QBS in the draft there will be a good one, or one with potential to take.

The qualities I would look for is, in this order: Late game winning drives, height and weight, the ability to NOT lock on recievers, accuracy, and finally, arm strength.

Browns just took a QB too but that doesn't mean they will not go for one. Just because a team took one before, doesn't mean they can't go after another. Considering the Browns have shown us that before. There are a lot more teams in need of a QB than you think. Some of the teams right now that are winless or have a few wins , would probably be in the hunt for a QB with the exception of maybe the Giants. I think there are only 3 QBs ready for the NFL so far Teddy, Boyd, and Johnny. If the Browns don't get any of those 3, then there is no need to pick one up early. They could maybe get someone like Murray or McCarron in the 2nd or 3rd. They shouldn't rush like they did with the Weeden pick when they missed out on guys like Russell Wilson and Nick Foles who were not picked until the 3rd round.

By the way, just to let you know, height is no longer a major necessity for a QB. Just see QBs like Russell Wilson and Drew Brees.

I disagree on Height isn't an issue it isn't an issue if you are rolling your QB out and his delivery. It depends on the system you are trying to run for him. I really think whoever they take, better be one that fits on what they are trying to do in that system.
Browns haven't exactly thought through the QB pick,as much as just to the flavor of the year for their pick.

And I disagree with Johnny Manziel being ready to start in the NFL. He may make it in the NFL, but he is not ready to start right away, and his decision making will cost you games in the NFL. And as Ward had said decision making is key. Still like Oregon's QB.

I think Manziel has the same QB swagger as guys like Namath, Montana, and Favre. It's the intangible that allows an athlete to succeed when things look improbable. The problem is at 6 1 and 210, he may not be able to take the hits at the next level that guys like Big Ben can take.

You make good points and is hard to argue that but in my mind if guys like Weeden, Ponder, Locker, Gabbert, Smith, and Manuel can come into this league and start right away so can Johnny Football. The guy can simply make plays with his arm and his legs. The only difference in the NFL is that you have to be more cautious when making plays with your legs as the hits come harder. But if you can avoid them, then it's a lethal attribute. Sure he may make some bonehead plays but Johnny has completed 73% of his passes so far although his attempts are a little low but more than Mariota has thrown. Mariota is having a pretty solid season at Oregon but the only difference in the two is Johhny is going up against more tougher defenses than Mariota in my opinion. Based on what we know and see I think there is no doubt that Johhny could start in the NFL, the only thing that would prevent that is if he loses his head on and off the field. The problem with what we are saying is that lately it's been hard to predict how a college QB can do in the NFL. So really no one here is saying anything incorrect.

I hope Hoyer gets ready for training camp and can start. He seemed to have the field vision and quick decision making you look for, if not the rocket arm. That said, they still need to draft a QB. Heck, draft 3 of them, lol.

But why? lol If Hoyer is your guy, I would say Weeden is a good back up. Or perhaps maybe they can pick one up off free agency. The Browns need some o-line help, a RB, another playmaking WR, and maybe some help in the pass rush.

I like Hoyer, but if there is another young QB in this Draft that has several. Murray, and Bama's even as another one the way the Browns have struggled with that position you take him.

And i get your point Ward about the QB's you mentioned starting. I just think his ablilty to run his he is like Leopita stated he is only 210, and he isn't RGIII fast,so he won't be out running as many people.

Well RG3 might only be a tenth or 2 of a second faster than Johnny Football if we compare 40 times and with some recent knee injuries of RG3, he may not be as fast since his 40 combine time. Both in my opinion are very similar when playing QB. Both can not only make plays with their feet, but can throw the ball and accurately. Being 210 is not a big concern heading into the league. Guys like Brees and Wilson are around 210 and seem to be doing just fine. Everyone's durability is different, no matter if you are 210 or 230, it;s all about being able to avoid as many big hits as possible in this league.

Another thing, just Because Weeden, Ponder, Gabbert, are starting now, it doesn't mean they need to. I know the draft isn't an exact science, but drafting someone like Johnny who has shown on and off the field he makes questionable choices. I think it would be likely to think he will continue to make those decisions, when he gets awhole lot of his own money.

If your QB is going to be your starter right away then he better be mature enough to handle dealing with the pressure that comes with it. And be able to show respect to the older veteran players on his team.

Well they are starting now because they need to. I don't know how else you can view that. The teams that drafted them knew exactly what they were getting and felt they were more than capable of starting. Teams that are looking for a QB, will draft one early and if that one ends up being Johnny than he has a really good chance at starting. Sure Johnny has made some bone head decision in this past offseason but these were "immature decisions" due to the fact of him unable to handle his own fame which is a lot for a 20 year old kid to endure. It's possible that if and when he gets to the NFL, that he could maybe put all this behind him and be mature about it but that is just speculating.

And I agree with you gamekeeper on your last point. If he can't handle the fame and be mature about it, then he will get put in his place.

It's very hard to predict who will be sucessfull at the next level. I would have guess Tim Couch would have been a better Pro QB than Bernie Kosar based on what they looked like in college. Bernie moved around like he needed medication, but he was still great.

Can't forget about Tim lol. I remember the Eric Crouch days in Nebraska. Didn't amount much in the NFL that's for sure.
