Very difficult to have multiple high quality girls programs at one school. There just aren't enough athletes, and more and more are specializing in one sport. AAU and club volleyball programs are giving kids the ability to play one sport year around, and some coaches make it difficult to play multiple sports.

multiple sources (including one senior on the team) say she resigned due to taking a teaching position at another school. A very difficult situation for those girls to be put in, considering practice begins Monday.

Good luck to Mr. Dackin in finding a replacement as quick as possible

Wow, tough spot. But you can't blame the coach. Volleyball coaching isn't going to pay the bills, and a teaching job will. Got to go where the higher paying job is. HOpefully there was a few connected to the program that can pick up the pieces. Tough to get people to coach these days with all the red tape, plus the parent issues that can arise.

Yeah...maybe Coach Benda would consider at least stabilizing the program until a head coach can be found...hoping the best for our Kitten volleyballers.
Honestly, I don't really follow volleyball being as my daughter doesn't play, but I'm Carolina Blue through and through and want all Bath athletics to succeed

Can anybody else chime in with anymore info cause I'm just getting bits and peices as to what's going on with volleyball?
