Supposedly he felt he had taken the program as far as he could. Most people wanted new blood anyways.

Who do you think applies? Cooper coming back to Ohio?

Would be a good resume builder for a young up and coming guy.

I would have to say his last four years that weren't as successful record wise could be attributed to joining the MAC. Coincidence, I don't think so!

Uh, Anna joined the MAC in 2006, Coach. They made the playoffs three years in a row from '08-'10.

I realize that they joined the MAC in 06. What I was trying to say is, they still had that attitude that they could win every week like they did in the CCC conference. I remember when they first came into the MAC, the story was they would never be able to compete. I think it was a chip on their shoulder. (were going to prove everyone wrong) I feel it finally took it's toll when you start getting beat up every week after week. Not like the CCC. Just an opinion, I think if they were still in the CCC you would have seen a lot of (10-0 / 9-1) seasons the last 5 years.

It is very refreshing to have a coach who is stepping down be honest about it and to continue to show his gartitude to the program. Instead of the old standby "I want to spend more time with my family". Coach Rioch seems like a straightforward, upstanding guy.
