Sad and mad all at the same time. Lot of people wanted to get the program off the ground there and the guy they hire as head coach Shane Troyer betrays the trust of everyone with alleged inappropriate conduct with students.

It would seem that the LB school system is having a LOT of problems concerning their teachers lately.......I think that is at least the 3rd teacher fired in the past 6-8 months.......this might have something to do with their inability to pass a school levy....RM

I don't understand people that vote down a school levy. They are only hurting their home values.

How is that? LB still has a good school system and a good buildings. The elementary is older but still a very useful building.

Hound Dog, because the building is good and the system is good the school doesn't need money? The schools get there income from the state and from the tax levy's if I'm not mistaken. The money is not only use to maintain the building but to pay teachers, staff, buy office supplies, educational supplies, educational equipment and so forth. Then there is the utilities. If your utilities go up and your cost of living goes up you can be sure the schools do to.
I don't want to live in a school district that is not highly ranked a one of a few reason. My home is my investment, good schools add to that investment. I'm not saying LB is a bad school but if people keep voting down levy's it hurts the schools and the schools ranking go down. A home buyer with kids is going look at the schools before buying in the area. They also look at how the community supports the school and that goes hand in hand with support of the students.
If the levy's can effect the type of teachers you get, it can effect your home values.
Just my 2 cents worth on why I support any Levy!

RM you said ............"I think that is at least the 3rd teacher fired in the past 6-8 months.......this might have something to do with their inability to pass a school levy". I was assuming you meant it went hand in hand.

I actually applaud the L-B folks for this. Too many other schools don't have the guts to fire teachers........or coaches.
