The last few years the NWC outperformed the MAC in basketball. How do they look this year? Is Crestview the team to beat? How's Ada? Spencerville....etc.?

Fort Recovery beat Jefferson Friday fairly handily-after trailing by as many as 14 early in the game.

Crestview and Spencerville are the best in the league.

Not sure how it compares to the MAC this year...i would put Crestview up against any MAC team this year after about a month or so...

Crestview and Spencerville are at the top of the NWC. Allen East will be middle of the pack but I believe the lack of size and depth of bench will hurt them.

Yes I saw Allen East last year in the tournament at Van Wert. They seemed very solid. Got most guys back?

Nice win at home tonight for the Bearcats who now dip out of conference and welcome Ottoville to town on Saturday

Paulding also bounces back with a 30 point road win at Ada after a tough weekend last week with Defiance and Wayne Trace

Crestview and Spencerville are the teams to beat. Allen East and Lincolnview middle of pack followed by Paulding, Ada, Delphos, and
Bluffton. Watched Delphos play the other night and they have no one on the team that can defend the other teams best player man to man.

Crestview lost tonight 62-60 to Miller City

Right now, Crestview is not anything special. They have their work cut out for them to get any where near what they have been the last two seasons.

Bearcats defeat New Knoxville tonight in game 1 of their 6 game road trip. I wouldn't say it was their best game of the year but as the saying goes "all that matters is you get the W".

Miller City seems to have Crestview's number over the past several years. That said the knights are still the team to beat in the NWC but must fill the void left by Connor Lautzenheiser's departure.

It seems like EVERY team in the NWC is down compared to last year's version except Allen East. Crestview and Spencerville are the teams to beat, but neither as strong as last year. Lincolnview and Paulding are down. Jefferson and Bluffton are way down. Grove? Ada? There is time for improvement. Crestview seems like they could get to last year's level with time.

Last year was an exceptional group of seniors in the league.....that could explain a few of the struggles with some of the teams.....especially Lincolnview. I'll bet the Lancers lost 95% of their scoring AND rebounding. Give the current kids and teams time to find themselves. Crestview has great things ahead when you look at the talent for the young age!

I was bored last night and looked up last year's conference awards. You are correct. Lincolnview lost the most. My meaningless rankings of who has the most shoes to fill, based on conference coaches' rankings of top end talent last year. Obviously role players matter and aren't captured. For entertainment purposes only.

1. Lincolnview lost a first teamer, two second teamers, and an honorable mention. 0 return.
2. Bluffton lost 5 honorable mention players. 0 return.
3. Crestview lost a first teamer and an honorable mention but had a freshman honorable mention player return.
4. Paulding lost a first teamer and had 0 return.
5. Spencerville lost a first teamer and an honorable mention, BUT has a first team junior returning for his senior year.
6/7. Both Grove and Ada lost a second teamer and an honorable mention with zero return.
8. Jefferson lost a first teamer but have a 2nd teamer returning for his senior year.
9. Allen East lost nobody AND has a 2nd teamer returning.
