Has been lots happen nationally, along with within our personal lives, not to mention, within the 'Corner with many schools.......

Please share what has affected your life most this year or 'caused you to think/rethink things~~directly, emotionally and/or spiritually......
And here, most likely more indirectly, in the not so truly significant world of sports and/entertainment?

Favorite things, worst things; bad or good~~ugly; what's left the biggest imprints on your life this year in 2013?

Changes hoped for in 2014?

Our 2013 RocketCorner year in Review.

My wife lost both of her grandmother's within two weeks of each other. The last of my kids great-grandparents. It's really hard to lose that generation. It's weird to think of our parents being the oldest generation of our family. Talk about a "step-back-and-think" moment.

There were a LOT of positives in 2013. Nothing big, but a ton of small milestones that I'm proud of. My family is healthy. I thank God for that again this year.

2014 will be challenging for my little family. My wife is a volunteer on the New Bremen Emergency Medical Service. You have Basic EMT's, Intermediate EMT's, and Paramedic's. She's been an Intermediate for many years. Well, she's now going after her Paramedic license. This is an intense year-long program at Rhodes, in which she'll have an additional 40 hours of work each week. On top of her regular 40 hour job. On top of being a mother to a 9 and 6 year old. And being a mother to her 33 year old husband. Now in all honesty, I do more than my fair share of work around the house but to take on all of it will be trying. And keeping up with the kids ever-changing schedules. But that's not going to get any easier down the road. Now's the time for her to do this. So wish us luck. Hopefully the thread at the end of 2014 is all positive!

I'd rather shower at Penn State than root for Michigan.

The relentlessly steady rise of the cost of living in this country is taxing. (Lepiota=Pun Champion)

The recent (last ten years and getting worse) charade that homosexuality is normal and that we are all fine with it goes against how we have reacted to same ###### contact throughout history. We are the same creatures we were 10, 100, and a 1000 years ago.

I'm not truly sure if my cholesterol medicine is lengthening or shortening my life.

The term "Dead and gone", applies to evreyone eventually except Jesus, Elvis, and Marilyn Monroe.

If there was a template for a leader of men, it would be James T Kirk.

Obama is either trying to destroy America or he has no idea what he's doing

Mo-you are a good man to be going on this journey with your wife. (I was going to say "letting your wife do this" but that sounded a bit sexist and it really will be a challenge for both of you! Good luck with it all!

The bestest thing to happen to us in 2013 was my oldest son moving back to Ohio. He is in the Air Force and is now attending AFIT to qualify for his next advancement to Major. His kids are just fantastic and it so cool to be able to see them grow up and spend time with them. Lots better to just drive an hour than it was to fly all day to Nevada to see them like it used to be.

Things I look forward to doing in 2014:

Playing golf with both my boys. Only got to do that a couple times in the past due to one being so far away.

Spending time with the grandkids.

Competing for a state title in baseball. :D

Improving my "friendships"

Thanks, FF. And yeah, "letting her do this" is way off. She asked me my thoughts, I told her I supported her and would do everything within my power to make it work on the homefront. In reality, I'm pretty sure she had already signed up for it when she asked me to weigh in! It's 2013, she doesn't really have to ask my permission, per se. I actually think she knew what my answer would be.

Hoping your 2014 is as rewarding as your 2013 was.
