Cougar Wrestlers 2-3 at Lexington

LEXINGTON -- The VAN WERT Cougars' varsity wrestling team battled its way through a very strong field of dual competition on Saturday in the Richland Electric Duals at Lexington High School. The Cougar grapplers finished their five dual-match day with a 2-3 record. The Cougars were defeated by Lexington 53-6 in round one, by Westland 54-18 in round two, and the third loss on the day came at the hands of Sandusky Perkins by a 53-24 score. In round four the Cougars put together an inspired team performance knocking off Warsaw Riverview who was 2-1 on the day at the time. VAN WERT finished the day by topping Fremont Ross 48-33. The Cougars now stand at 8-3 on the season in dual competition and will travel to ST.
