Seneca East?

With Crestline leaving the N10 SE could get out. Not sure they will as I am told they are happy with the gates.

HL and SE obviously have ties with the River schools. Toss in Gibsonburg and it protects against SW not fielding a football team. You'd the have:

Calvert
SMCC
Margaretta
Gibsonburg
Hopewell-Loudon
SJCC
Lakota
Seneca East

Old Fort
New Riegel
SW

That's a pretty darn balanced league

Certainly don't envy the jobs of school administrators, athletic directors or head coaches these days. Football's shrinking numbers, competitiveness and travel costs make it difficult to weigh options.
I mean, all things being equal, you'd like to find a competitive situation for your kids. I mean, how difficult is it to turn things around at these schools that never make the playoffs. The school and community excitement that goes with a playoff run is priceless.

But how much do you water down a product just "looking" for wins? You certainly don't want to double your travel expenses by joining a league where your closest conference opponent is an hour and a half away.

I've heard the school board voted 5-0 to leave. They will inform the BVC at the next league meeting. They are citing travel and competitiveness as reasons for leaving.

Curious, did they not know the travel requirements following getting into the league? Also, didn't they just win the BVC in wrestling and finish middle of the pack in other sports?

Most of the HL coaches/fans were against the move at the time - it was more of a "covering their butt" move against trying to fill out schedules. Now that most of the old gang is getting back together it changes things.

Well other than wraslin they've pretty much spent the year getting their teeth kicked in. Maybe the sbc river can add Danbury too.

I have always thought that the Wayne Trace should join the NWC.....would LOVE to see them compete for football titles now that they are turning the corner the last few years.

Wasn't this WHOLE BVC expansion started with a letter from Steve Suter HL's AD to LB's AD slobbering over the BVC....

Well that lasted a longtime...

Awesome

Well Suter is from Arlington. Maybe he was the only one who wanted to be in the BVC?

daaa browns, Wayne Trace played in the NWC (basically a trial run) back in the 70's but opted out for whatever reason. (travel distance being a big reason back then) but I agree, WT would be a good fit n the NWC

I've heard the same. Although a certain contributing member doesn't believe it will happen.

I'll believe it when I see it. Too many Vanlue, CR, Arcadia types.

Now if those schools were to quit delaying the inevitable and were being replaced by say some of the eastern NWC schools, then I could buy PH.

I don't buy PH unless the BVC breaks up and the "haves" leave the "have-nots."

How many "have-nots" do you see in the BVC? Arcadia, C-R and Vanlue? Are there more? If PH wants to be in the BVC I'm sure they would be welcomed but nobody is going kick schools out for one school that may or may not be competitive in the BVC.
