Here is a post to put all scores and results for this season.

Defiance 55 Celina 15
Elida 39 Bath 33 this surprises me. Anyone there that can break this meet down?

Any results for these matches Shawnee, St. Marys, Ottawa-Glandorf at Kenton?

Bulldogdad, I'm not surprised by Bath/Elida dual. I mentioned in another post Bath's program is on the decline. Seniors - Davis, Garrett, McConnell and Rabley are not wrestling. Stahl not wrestling, Cunningham transferring....have left the line-up with huge holes to fill. Lehman and Gross battling injuries, Wheeler has yet to alpha..... leave the line-up with little experience. Making matters worse is a first year coach with minimal coaching and wrestling experience. It's a shame to watch what use to be a quality program decline so quickly. Wildcat wrestling is in trouble and appears to be for several years to come.

Init4life - if Wheeler has not yet Alpha'd, is he actually wrestling this year? He chose not to participate two years ago, is he doing the same this year?

Its unfortunate whats happening at Bath. I can't fault the kids for not coming out, its hard to develop when you have a carousel of coaches.

On the other hand, I don't envy the new coaching staff. They were put in an awkward and unwinnable position.

If they get Lhamon, Gross, and Wheeler back in the lineup they can still be dangerous as a team.

I wish nothing but the best for them. It only makes the area stronger, if they are competitive.

I'm hearing Wheeler has left the team as well, which I think leaves no Seniors on the roster. That senior class had been together since the biddy years, what a shame that Bath administration couldn't hire quality coaches when Clayton left.

Coach Fisher left the program and administration in a bad position - resigning 2 or 3 wks. before the school yr. started (didn't even come in for freshman football / get in contact with administration that he was leaving!). No teaching positions available except the Soc. Studies position that Fisher had occupied. They looked ALL over for a wrestling coach and Soc. Studies teacher - none available. Called all area colleges etc. Of those who applied (no one in the system), the new coach was the only one who had several individuals who were willing to be assts. / Jr. High coaches (even though none had much experience). The others who applied had no one to come in and be assistants / Jr. High coaches - not even one! Very unfortunate!

Mackreeks - agreed that Joe left Bath in a terrible situation over the summer. My point was that after Clayton left they settled on Fisher, who was straight out of college with no experience, nor ties to the community. Joe had little interest in staying and made that very clear in how he handled situations inside the wrestling room. His sudden disappearance over the summer comes as little surprise to those that were involved in the program. He admitted on a frequent basis that he was overwhelmed and voiced several times that he was in over his head.

Wapak finished in 3rd at the Kettering Firebird Classic. They had 10 of the 14 place with Copeland and Hall finishing as champions.

Copeland at 138 and Hall at 182. Heath Newman did not make weight at 170 so he bumped up and wrestled at 182 and faced Hall for the championship at 182

We wrestled OG and Kenton last night. I thought both teams showed a lot of improvements from last year. Here are the scores from last night.

Defiance 38 Kenton 22
Defiance 56 OG 22

Any other results from last night?

Somewhat surprised that both OG and Kenton scored 22 on Defiance. Is that OG and Kenton signs of improvement, or a sign of Defiance struggling a bit early? Bulldogdad - any answers?

I think its a little of both. I like both of the efforts from Kenton and OG. No excuses on our end, we didn't look sharp and both young teams looked improved from last year.

We need to continue to work and get our wrestlers ready for the reminder of the season.

Wapak over the holiday season wrestled at the nutter center with 55 teams finishing in 3rd place. Dallas Ambos won the 145 class defeating a wrestler from Graham. Congrats To the Redskins and Dallas for keeping the great Wapak wrestling tradition going.

Good showing by Wapak. I have not been paying as much attention to WBL over the holidays; when is the Wapak-Defiance match?
