havent byan and van wert played game 1 since the dark ages ? why keep playing van wert ? they gain you nothing point wise. couldnt this be a great week 1 match up ?

Because Napoleon and Defiance are simply not going to drop each other. Ever. WAY too big of a rivalry. And since Defiance only has week 1 available, that game kinda HAS to be week 1.

I would LOVE to see the Bryan-OG series that Maltese Falcon mentioned though. And who knows, maybe someday the NWOAL does find a way to lose Montpelier, weeks 1-3 become available non league, and Bryan and Napoleon can play again.

OG-Bryan would be great. Fostoria has gone 0-10 in 4 of the last 5 seasons...giving OG basically nothing as far as playoff pts are concerned.....though if Fostoria had won 2 games OG wouldnt have basically a bye week with Clearview...lol

Bryan drops VW, picks up OG..VW then could go play Jefferson and/ or Spencerville. Two good D-5 teams that need to beef up their schedule.

dhs, you are right, that would be a great matchup. But the problem lies in the fact that nothing will ever happen with Montpelier. Its the ideal situation, but anymore, I just don't see it happening. It makes no sense, but I've finally hit the realization that it will never happen.

DJ playing VW wouldn't benefit them.

I am assuming VW will get to the point they can win 3-4 games a year. That has to be a better situation for Jefferson than playing Lima Perry. The commodores probably hit their high water mark this season winning 4 games.

I'm not sure if VW can get to that point, but I agree about Perry. I would have much rather kept Northwood on the schedule for points, or at least schedule 2 teams from different conference, instead of WG and Perry together.

The people in Montpelier would rather lose every game in every sport than think about moving to a league where they can at least compete. Look at the Nwoal this year and most in recent history, Montpelier, Delta and Swanton are fighting for the bottom. Reminds me of the Big 10 from about 1975.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. Kinda sad, both for the teams still having to play Montpelier and most years destroy them(I'm sure even Bryan doesn't like to do it even with the county rivalry) and for the kids at Montpelier. There's just no way they can compete anymore, but for the sake of history and tradition they keep coming back. I don't understand it.

Don't rush into scheduling decisions based on one or two seasons of success. I have a feeling Bryan's success is only temporary. They have an outstanding QB, probably the best player in the area. They will probably revert back to their mediocre ways after he is gone. I would say that Van Wert has a better chance of getting better, than Bryan does at staying at this level.

Bryan vs Van Wert is one of the oldest continuing rivalry games in the state. Van Wert has dominated the series and neither school has any interest of ever ending this game. Van Wert will be back sooner than later.

IMO.......with the coaching Bryan has now they are more likely to reload than rebuild.

475 to 75 is much faster. I would get off the Downtown (rt 25) exit. Left on Erie. Left on Cherry

When PH played Bryan this year I wasn't impressed with the way Bryan played for 3 quarters of the game - that being said they did score 21 to beat PH in the 4th - along with 3 very bad pass interference calls and 1 huge onside kick that goes out of bounds ( which is on YouTube ) I see Bryan getting beat by Nap-35-6

Can Bryan win this game? I mean lets be honest, Napoleon went undefeated in the NLL, beating AW, Maumee, Southview and Perrysburg. Bryan had to battle with Wauseon, Napoleon wiped the floor with them. That win over Watterson was very impressive, but I think Napoleon has to be the favorite for how they rolled through a tougher schedule. I'm still expecting a fantastic game

Wauseon's coach Cooper played both and was quoted in the Defiance Crescent News as saying this game was "too close to call".

I honestly see this one going to Napoleon. I realle hate to say it, but I think they get Bryan again. I really hope I'm wrong but I see it that way right now. I offer all the luck in the world to Bryan, but I just don't see the game turning out that way. Prove me wrong Bryan!

I am just guessing here. But, enrollment-wise Napoleon has to one of the biggest teams in D-III and Bryan one of the smallest. In fact once the 7 division system starts next year there will be no chance these two meet up up again in the playoffs?
