I suspected this matchup would happen. Grove comes in relatively unknown but really played well late in season. These are the teams that scare you - lots of momentum, and well coached. As for Arlington, they continue their expected run deep into the playoffs. I thought our defensive effort was worst of the year against McComb last night - they dominated us up front against what looked like a very generic defensive game plan. The defense has been our strength all year, so they get a hall pass last night. The offense really showed up and made big play after big play, and in a very different fashion then historical Arlington teams. We passed and passed very well, with limited running room for Rettig all night. I look for this one to be a good game. It will be nice to play a team we haven't played before as well.

Limited McComb to 1 big play....... 3 picks........ Bend but don't break....... Let them milk the clock when down 27........ Defense did its job it my book. McComb is the biggest Oline and Dline we have and will probably face. Gotta give them boys credit for playing smash mouth football.

Arlington is playing very well. Grove shouldn't be that much of a problem IMO

BigPappa - Your spot on. My point was not that it was a bad defensive effort considering we only gave up 14 points, but rather that we gave up a ton of time of possession and that eventually will wear out our d-line - especially when we are not a big blitzing team to help get a pass rush. Our defense has been the strength all year, but last night our offense was the difference. McComb certainly had their way up front last night, but had no answer for our QB combo passing/running the ball. Looking forward to this week - Coach Snider will have his defense prepared and knows us well from his LB days. Fortunately, this red devils offense is much different than year's past.

Haven't seen Grove play but looking at there 6-4 record, where as with that schedule Arlington goes 10-0. Arlington's offense puts points up and Grove over the year has given up a lot of points. I can't see Grove stopping them. If anything offensive shoot out but Arlington's defense is to solid. Arlington by 4 scores.

Yea Grove played a lot of patsies this yr, bs, CG played 5 playoff teams this season, only had 1 ugly loss this yr to Jefferson where the score looked a lot worse than how the game ended up. This game will be close unless Arlington completely shuts down Warnecke or if CG turns the ball over more than once. Should be a good game.

When did the BVC turn into the MAC? Arlington played 3 regular season games that their opponent finished their season above .500. Grove played 7. Arlington is and should be favored in this game. But why should we expect a blowout? Grove is playing some good defense the past 5 weeks and Warnecke is one of the best backs in all of D7.
