Waynesfield-Goshen sent two athletes to the Jesse Owens Classic and brought back 5 medals. Senior Joe Horn won the 100m (10.94) with a 10.88 in the prelims that missed the meet record by 0.02 seconds. In the 200m, he won in a new meet record time of 21.55, missing the state record by just 0.05 seconds. He was 4th in the 110m HH, but fell while challenging for the lead in the 300m IH.

Sophomore Gray Horn won the pole vault in 14'6 and the long jump with a personal best of 21'6. Gray was also 3rd in the high jump and 5th in the 110m HH.

If they are Div 3 Krout and Benjamin will beat them most likely in the 100 and 200, Krout also beating in the long jump. Other than that they should be able to compete (the Horn brothers) and score at state with high placings....

although Benjamin and Krout are great sprinters they are not in Horn's class. His times are FAT while theirs are manual which equates to a .24 difference, therefore Horn is considerably faster. He is the defending state champion and has the big meet experience necessary to win in Columbus. Look for Krout to struggle to even place at state in the 100 and but should win the 400 and place top three in the 200. Benjamin will place top three in the 100 and top five in the 200.
