All FSW in this one. K. Troike almost outscores the Lady Green by herself....

Didnt have a dog in the fight, but went to the game. #52 for St. Wendelin is BIG..but it ends there. She has no athleticism, but Ottoville girls were very intimidated by her. Scared to shoot, scared to penetrate

I agree With Blue jay. #52 is big but no athleticism and limited. ottoville was just too small. The rest of St Wendelan team just seemed to pose no threat and was all 52. ottoville just seemed like they were unprepared for 52. If you stop 52 and the reat of wendelan from throwing the ball 30 ft in the air to her you have them beat. I think they are in for a rude awakening down in state.

That was the general consensus in the Ottoville stands as well. #24 was a decent player, but other than that there are no threats. #52 dribbled one time the entire game. ONE time the entire game. Took one shot that wasn't just a backboard reliant one and air balled it.

Agreed and the thing is 52 does the same post move where she spins toward the paint inside. I was disappointed in the overall defense to stop the only really threat they had. That style won't work for them in state. At least it shouldn't. offensively ottoville was off. And shoulda did more to get 52 in foul trouble. I thought for regional final game it was hard to watch on both teams. Either way congrats to them for even getting there though. But for fsw sake they better change their scheme for state.

Crikeys! Alot of negativity toward a girl that scored 33 points and led her team to state. they must have done something right.

Anyway, good season to the lady green. ottoville is young and has a bright future......with many returning players and many good classes coming up.

Trust us falcon. The team is all 52. Ottoville just did a poor job defending her. Watching this game in person would give you a better idea. I just felt neither team seemed state quality after tonights performance. Ottoville looked sloppy and fsw were too one dimensional in 52. No disrespect to fsw but they will need to play more balanced at state if they wanna advance.

Good grief. How about giving her some credit and St. Wendelin too. How is that any different than Marion Local relying on their big men to dominate every game? Some teams have strengths and utilize them to their advantage. Sounds to me that was no different in this situation. You belittling FSW takes away any positives that the Big Green did this post season.

I guess I've been to a lot of regional games before and when I see a one person team like fsw it just doesn't work out very well down in state or even in the regionals. I'm just giving my overall impressions of the game. Don't have to like it.

Like hound dog said. If that is what St. Wendy's does, give them credit. Someone had to get the ball up the floor against a good ottoville defense (ottoville did press most of the game, right? if not, they should have, since St. Wendy only had one player and she was in the low post) Not to mention FSW held Ottoville to 36 points.

I have seen St. Wend. I know how they play and they do it well.

Ottoville didnt press the whole game. Actually they may have pressed just a few times Which was at the end after being down 12. Which was odd i thoight. it's not like fsw couldn't dribble. they just threw ball up 20 ft in the air to 52 which I thought was bizarre. But ya your right if it works do it until the opposing team stops you. I'll give them credit for winning and playing well defensively to prevent ottoville from scoring but just wasnt impressed. Sorry just my opinion.

How so? She had 33 of their points. The next lead scorer had like 12 and 8 of those were free throws. They mainly ran one play to a player who did nothing but stand down low. They did not attempt one 3 the entire game

Such a rare thing in today's style of play for teams.

North Union had a 6'4 girl against OG but had to shoot the 3 because she wasn't nearly as impressive as this girl you're referencing was

The rest of FSW just seemed like they posed no real threat offensively as far as the ability to knock down an outside shot and seemed like they struggled passing the ball too. The only time they succeeded at passing the ball with tight ball pressure or a double team was when they threw the ball high in the air to 52 whether it be under the rim or at half court. I guess I was shocked that ottoville didnt continue the pressure or at least forced FSW to shoot an outside shot. like I said I guess I just expected more for being a regional final game that's all.

I don't know that this 52 was even that impressive. She was just taller than everyone. She had one move down low and that's it. Be interesting to see how she do against a team that has someone closer to her height.
