Sorry, but don't have a daughter playing or a dog in the fight. Just tired of coaches showing favoritism to suck ups and people with certain last names.

Not sure anyone in that district cares......there has been a steady stream of boys and girls athletes leave WG due to sports opportunities elsewhere. Not sure what is going on, but a small school like this cannot afford this trend. I am a big dog myself, but no little doggie in the fight either. THE PROPHET HAS SPOKEN. LJ

Right or wrong it happens in all walks of life...at the federal and state level it is astonishing to see the level of ineptness.....will be a good life lesson..

Now you had coach recently that was run out, he passionately ran the program, but some didn't like his demeanor. Now you've got what you've got. Be careful what you wish for.
Until the day girls sports are perceived by the masses as important as the guys, it won't change.

As for coaches playing who 'deserves' to play instead of favorites. Well, are you at practice every day? Do you see the attendance, effort and attitude displayed at every practice. Do you know of all the other school disciplinary actions that might keep a student/athlete from playing time? I am not saying that the players mentioned above do or do not play because of the reasons listed, just stating that there are a multitude of factors not seen on game night that weigh in on playing time.
LimaJock, I assure you that the majority in this district care. Unfortunately, it is the very loud, and negative, few that are heard over the those who truly support the programs here. I am not sure that our 'steady stream' of opportunity seekers has wider banks than other schools. Of those who have left, many think they are big fish, but in reality have very average fish talent. Very few of those who have left have become as successful as they knew they would be.

I agree mostly with what you say. But, these people in most cases would of helped your athletic programs be very successful if they were their AND wearing the Bllue and Gold with pride. Don't have an answer, just pointing out there have been allot of boys and girls leave in the last 4-5 years. This really hurts a small school. LJ

If you want to take that same line of thinking even further, how was the Varsity Football coach hired having 2 cousins on the team this past year. Again a double standard based on the persons last name. That is most ludacris reason for not hiring a coach especially with the football coach having the same situation.

I agree, most times the related coach is harder on the player. I am extremely happy that the previous coach is gone, he was not a good representative of the school or community. However, to say the only reason a coach isn't hired is because he has relation on the team is horrible.
It is obvious after watching JV games that #4 is the player who means more, and does more than anybody out there. I know I don't see practice, but typically players turn it up a notch in games not down. Number 3 is lazy on defense and flat out doesn't hustle yet she is the one that is held out 2 quarters and plays more varsity than #4. Oh, imagine that 3 and 11 are sisters.
What is the difference if a coach is related or a coach allows sucking up to determine who plays.

WG Parents...Ludacris is an American rapper with his own record label called Disturbing tha Peace. Ludicrous is an adjective meaning causing laughter because of absurdity. Which did you mean?
