Don't we all know it!! What's also sad is kids are bashing kids about this whole coaching saga!! The kids "bashing" are the so-called good kids!! Apple doesn't fall far from the tree!!

Sounds like we have a couple disappointed parents sounding off now....you reap what you sow and with some of the comments on this thread I don't see things getting any better at the 'Graveyard of Coaches'.......the spiral downward continues!!!!!

"The Graveyard" it is.........VonSossan probably has the longest tenure of any coach since Heckman. (Which was a LONG time ago) The other sports don't seem to have this issue. Never quite understood it. Maybe I should stop into Wannamachers this summer when we come back for Wetzel and find out what the DCA has to say about the problem.

Fishman,
We have been Floridians for over a year now. Full time residents but do come back up north a few times a year. HS sports down here are non-existent but the fishin' and golfin' are great. The wife sits by the pool most days reading and following Facebook I think. (At least that's what she says) There are quite a few of us here from Ohio and even a couple from Putnam Co. With what the OHSAA has done to HS sports in Ohio I don't miss it much. They keep going like they have the past 10 years or so, and you'll see the same thing like down here.

Not really sure.......after our trip to the Classic in the Country 2 years ago she's been AWOL....not sure if she found herself a young Amish boy or what. I've been by her house a few times but it doesn't look like anyone's lived there for quite a while.

I agree with Flounder here... maybe everyone on this thread has been wrong the whole time. Maybe the blame falls on the parents on this one... something to think about...

Parents are probably the ones who got the grave diggers a diggin. But If TT did to my kid what I've heard he has done to present and past players. He lucky to walk around this town. Good job parents!! Protect the kids and that is what the school is finally doing.

Serious people the poor little basketball coach lost his job. If he was a teacher and did those things he'd been gone 6 years ago. Wake up

My guess he was probably was being a hardass. Yelling too much at the players and belittling them. I'm surprised he lasted this long in this day and age.

He was apparently not the greatest guy to play for .... as evidenced by their low participation.

Hey Floundy,

Atleast I show up some again even though I had to go with a new and improved name. I went to my first Beaver eating party at Stinkys this year. Does anyone else go who posts on here?

Rocket, Congrats on move to Florida, no state taxes. Golf and sunshine like here. Lucky you did not move to Calif. We are going to become a sanctuary state. Plus they are going to raise our gas tax by 12 cents a gallon, plus DMV fees to help pay for all the people who will move here. I would move to Florida also, but my wife won't, so I am stuck. Sorry about the politics. HS sports out here are nothing like Ohio. Did you hear what that Ball dad said about UCLA? Have a great weekend.

That may be true but the amount the talent there as opposed to Ohio is light years apart. The elite kids in football and hoops just aren't here anymore.

What exactly have you heard he has done to present and past players, Stud? ... I have yet to see an actual example of what TT has done wrong. What do we need to "protect" the kids from? Honestly, I've only ever read about "I've heard he did this" or "someone said he did that". What has TT actually done that is so, so terribly wrong?

If I can actually get an answer to this question, maybe it will help me understand why everyone hates the guy so much...

BigGreen.....

I agree...all we hear is how Coach Turnwald treats his players.....how bad it is......seems to me that the 'wussification' of America started in Ottoville. I just cannot understand why people cannot understand the meaning of discipline in high school sports.....grow up people....it will only help you later in life!!!!!!!

I was told today that he shoved a kid in the locker room during a game this season which led to 2 kids leaving at half.

This is exactly what my friends from Ottoville have been saying for years.

FlightCrew, what game did 2 players leave at the half? Sounds like something that your Downtown Coaches Association would say.
