I saw an RC member commenting on Facebook about her husband going out to look at the sky after the tornado sirens went off yesterday. My wife yelled at me for the same thing. Apparently this might be a "guy thing" as I enjoy sitting on my front porch watching the storm clouds. Wind was so strong last night I couldn't stay on the porch without getting soaked-so I went to the garage.....My wife just couldn't understand.....LOL

I did the exact same thing. But I cleared a path to the basement first, lol. That makes me a half assed storm chaser

quite a few limbs down around the RM house this morning and afternoon........nothing too serious and my heart goes out to all the folks around Cloverdale and other places who endured the storm.....Saw pictures of St. Barbara's and I can't imagine them rebuilding........very unusual set of events for this time of year for sure..........also, we haven't heard from Slicer since the storms hit yesterday.....certainly hope she's OK.....RM

We just got our power back here in Paulding around 3:45(although a chunk of town never even lost it. Weird). I didn't think the storm was that bad here and was outside through most of it(until the major wind/rain hit and about knocked me over. Even I have a limit). But then I was able to check facebook on my phone today and saw the devastation in Cloverdale, then realized that was most likely the storm that went through here.

I'm considering myself lucky. No power for 24 hours made for one boring, cold night. But everyone is safe and the house and all of our belongings are in one piece. Prayers to everyone in Putnam County, especially the Cloverdale area.

Wife and dog in basement, Sirens going off, tv saying go to basement. I was at back door looking at clouds. What a man does......LJ

My mom and twin girls were in the basement watching cartoons the wife was at work huddled in a locker room. I was sitting upstairs watching the Saints and 49ers game. I knew GOD wouldnt interrupt a good football game.

I love watching a good thunderstorm, but I was driving through that insanity the other night. Probably shouldn't have, but I just wanted to get home. Never, ever again.

I love sitting in the garage watching a good storm blow through, even this past Sunday wasn't too bad in Ottawa............but the June 2012 derecho took the cake as far as storms go, scared the absolute crap out of me and even I had to take refuge in my neighbor's basement once I saw another neighbor's fence fly apart into multiple pieces, not to mention shingles, tree branches and anything else that wasn't tied down in my neighborhood flying past.

Probably will go to cover right away next time. Wife heard the train and by the time I got to look out window I heard it. Ran to the bathroom for shelter and before I got there it was here and gone in a matter seconds. I felt the pressure drop and my ears almost popped. Now I have no windows, a beat up roof with holes in the roof and holes in my walls. looks like someone took a shotgun to the front of the house. Thank God nobody was hurt and the power was back on in 48 hours.

Love to watch the storms roll in. Wife hates it. Nothing better than sitting on the front porch during a thunderstorm and watching it come in.

Wow Hayes, that had to be scary! I hope your insurance allowed you to repair the work fast enough and your warm and ready for the coming holidays. My hubby loves to go outside as soon as he hears the sirens, I'm usually shooing the cat and dog to the basement, grabbing some water bottles just in case!! I do keep some blankets, candles and a few flashlights with batteries down there too.
