Looks to have leveled the playing field a bit.
D4 girls will have a public school winner.
D4 boys will most likely have a private. (Cornerstone)

D3 girls should be public (Versailles)
D3 boys should be public (Deer Park)

D2 girls should be private
D2 boys should be public

D1 girls will be public
D1 boys should be private (Moeller)

3 privates out of 16 teams at state girls tourney
6 privates out of 16 boys teams at state (guess)

Has the OHSAA ever announced what metric it will use to determine if it is working? Does it mean the percentage of private school state championships in each sport will be similar to the ratio of public schools to all schools competing?

The “metric” you are talking about is how well the AAU coaches are able to take over the OHSAA much like they’ve taken over the NCAA.......we’ll see how long it takes before they have the FBI visits Roselea Place....

Paulding? Wasn't aware they were recruiting kids....lol. If so, they obviously aren't very good at it :)

Vince Koza was just interviewing someone from the OHSAA and they both agreed that the competitive balance initiatives seem to be working

Well D3 will have a "public" school champion so the OHSAA probably considers that a victory for competitive balance :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

I'm trying to think of anyone in the area who's done more to promote and publicize high school sports and athletes than Vince Koza. But, hey, 3rd grade playground talk is pretty popular these days.

Good guys and certainly not guys I'd mock or belittle but I'd still go with Koza. The amount of coverage on radio and tv. We are spoiled around here.

Bobbers,
Tell Todd Walker and Sweet Lou Settlemire how well that “competitive” balance is working 🤗

Koza doesn’t make waves........if one of the “uppitys” tells him the Browns are gonna win the Super Bowl again this year, he’ll agree. If someone told him that Johnny Football was going to make us forget about any of the past 20 Cleveland QB’s, he’d say yes......

Does he promote high school athletics? A resounding yes....does he love CB’s from Kewpee?.....does a bear sheet in the woods?
