Not too early to talk football, I am interested to see how the new school COF Academy does this year.

read the article: http://www.thisweekn...ule-little-else

My money is on 0-12 and outscored by an average of 25-30 p/g. That's assuming they even field a team. I am shocked that all those big schools would have scheduled a team like this without knowing more about them. The game essentially never happened with regard to playoff points. They'd have been better off playing an 0-10 D7 school. Just have a feeling this isn't going to end well for any of the teams involved.

Big game tonight: Wapak vs. Defiance at Defiance @ 5:00 pm

Huge surprise....not necessarily the result (Wapak is good), but that Roedeiger threw a 2-hitter with 15 K's. A 2-hitter against Defiance is almost unheard of....and I'm guessing they've never fanned 15 times, at least since Held's been the HC. Kind of nice to see some WBL teams getting the W against Defiance after them having dominated so long. I think it's good for the league

I don't know that that is the case with Deer Park at all. They were HORRIBLE for a long time.

Uh, they obviously have had a team before....and they have 10 transfers.....so yes, some kids other than the 3 remaining from before the transfers showed up had to lose their spots. There are kids that are FROM THAT SCHOOL DISTRICT....who can't play on their hometown team because it's full of transfers. Horrible or not it's still THEIR team. There are some small towns in NW Ohio that have been horrible for a long time....but I'm pretty sure they still have kids that want to play basketball and wouldn't be thrilled to have 10 kids just show up and take their spots their roster spots their junior year

The three kids from Marion Local dancing on the end of the bench tells you everything you need to know about why kids changing schools just for sports is a bad thing. If those kids are at Deer Park, 10 kids moved in.....and took their spots on the team (with kids they've been playing with since they were 5 years old) and those kids are watching from the bleachers....not from the floor of the Schott in what's likely going to be the biggest athletic event of their lives.

Competitive balance is absolutely not working. It just pushed some of the violators up one division. Did nothing to prevent what goes on at Africentric, Cornerstone, Deer Park. I am absolutely not racist, but facts are facts. Cornerstone's roster was 90% black and there student section was 99% white. Anyone who says those players are not at Cornerstone strickly for basketball are dillusional. Africentric should be D1 - period. Draw their team from a population area of over 700,000. Deer Park playing with 7 transfer players.

Marion Local's win may actually hurt the chances of changes happening soon. I can see the OHSAA saying "well, Marion Local beat Cornerstone"....so what's the problem? They see what they want to see. The only hope is with these schools bringing essentially nobody to the games that maybe the OHSAA will $ee the lo$$ of $$$$$ and finally realize something may need to be done. Doubtful....but po$$ible
