Back on this again? Who cares? I have two children in grade school right now and depending on their individual situations, either one or both may transfer someday.....

How's that "touchy"? The whole transfer thing gets bantered about constantly on the fb and bb boards.....Just disappointed to see whining about it over here too.....

Why would you transfer your kids? Because of an athletic opportunity somewhere other than your current school boundries? Its pure BS when someone thinks the grass is greener somewhere else and wants a part of it. The boys class last year and the girls class this year have been together ever since kindergarten. Thats what I'm proud of, kids who have grown together and developed together. If you need to get your child included in the "hip crowd" and transfer to become a winner, this cheapens the achievement. LB gets athletes from out of district and I'm sure others do too. My hats off to Zach Garber for staying at Vanlue the last couple years.

I just find it odd that transferring for athletics is the only thing that gets people fired up....people change colleges, jobs, homes, spouses (ha) churches, etc....nobody says boo..... But God forbid a kid goes to a better school for football, hoops etc.....

We are now at a point in time where choices abound for parents and kids when it comes to education. Most schools accept open enrollment students because conversly they lose alot to other districts. Also the increase of home schooling and now digital or online schools is making high school class sizes smaller and smaller.
One of the side bars to the AAU basketball, club volleyball and other travel sports is that many of the kids and families are becoming more and more familiar with their adjoining school districts as the kids play together. For generations of the past, this didn't happen. You stayed with your home school teams through high school, there was little mixing.

Big game tonight in the BVC as McComb travels to Leipsic. A McComb win nearly seals an outright BVC title. A loss opens the door for a potential 3 way tie.

Congrats to McComb on a hard fought win last night. 1st game was close with Panthers winning. 2nd game was mostly McComb after grabbing an early 5 pt. lead. Vikes came back and won 3rd game but 4th was mostly panthers. 2 good teams probably heading for a rematch in Districts.
Lady Vikes clinched at least a share of PCL with a win at Kalida tonight in 3. Big match with Miller City next week for outright title.
