Kalida has a good shot I think. Austin Swift dominated on the mound last year, but none of the other starters could get enough run support to string together an impressive season.

Grove lost a lot from last year, so I'd agree with Miller City as the favorites...they're a scrappy bunch with a lot of great athletes.

Kalida got a lot younger this year. Prob. play mostly sophs. this year. Better years are ahead. Will have trouble scoring I believe. Miller City should be favorite as a team. Don't count out Ottoville with Schimmoeller if he pitches most league games. He is prob. #1 pitcher in PCL this year.

I think Schimmoeller along with Lehman and Lammers from MC and Swift in Kalida are the top 4....probably have to give the edge to Lehman right now based on last year's results and a good outing against PH on Monday

I have a relative that plays for Continental and he thought they should be 1 step ahead of FJ for the basement. Looks like Continental may be 2 steps ahead of Ottoville. On the flip side of that I know Schimmoeller had a couple of bad games in basketball and then came back strong. He may do the same for baseball.

He didn't pitch bad at all against OG. OG has a lot of guys who can put the ball in play....and 6 errors on the Big Green defense hurt him by making him throw to a lot more batters.

I am not so sure FJ is much better than Ottoville.......sounded like the Ft. Jennings coach just out-maneuvered the first year Big Green skipper.

I wasn't aware Ottoville got a new coach. Anyone know anything about him?

Ottoville pushed Tony C. out after he reached the 200 win milestone in favor of a local guy, Wannemacher.....not sure of his first name.

How many league games do most school play per week? P-G just put Continental as a make up game which puts them at 7 league games in one week. There's a double header with Leipsic on Sat. Isn't the idea to try to win as many games as possible, playing that many league games is throwing in the towel before you play. No small school has that many quality pitchers. I think the coach or AD needs to do some thinking. Maybe they are counting on rain that week. CRAZY!

Maybe Tony C. will find another coaching job and become the winningest coach in Ohio. It's happened before!!!

Hey Falcon, you forgot to cross off miller city. Ottoville beat MC this week, so they must be below FJ and then ottoville. Looked like some rather strange coaching moves,by mc. I think the Rookie coach pulled one over on him.

Pretty sure Mr.C was let go because of multiple training rule violations that were never acted on.

The paper said Ottoville and MC game was a NON league game. That would explain the out come and some of the position moves. Just baiting the trap for when they play the league game??

Possibly. I know falcon failed to mention ottoville had no seniors on the field against fj due to the class trip.

Alum, what's your opinion on FJ baseball? Not sure if either team saw each other's potential so PCL game should be a hood one at FJ park in a couple of weeks.

MC has the Lammers, Lehman one-two punch. Both 1st team PCL last year...with MC only being in one league and only losing two seniors from last year. It could be very tough to beat them assuming the duo pitches the majority of their league games and a young experienced team. Kalida would be a close second though. Swift had a very good year last year and could be a threat as well.

Still don't know what to make of a handful of teams but I'm curious to see both Miller City on Wednesday and PG at Grove on Tuesday.

I've seen PG and they were impressive against Ft. Jen (Rau pitched well but got no run support other than the 2 he drove in himself)....but were shut down by Swift who pitched 5 great innings on Thursday.
