What has become a Putnam County tradition, this Saturday July 19th the Tri-State
Rib Fest will be held at the Putnam Co. Fairgrounds in Ottawa, Ohio....

They have the customary 5K run in the morning, a car show, corn hole tournament,
rides for the kiddies and a bike give-away later on in the evening...

What makes this unique (and not so unique to Putnam Co.) is a wine-tasting that
starts around 3pm.....of course you can't have a "RIB Fest" without BBQ ribs,
and boy do they have a lot of vendors for this event! Samplers are
available to get you started before diving into a mess of sweet and tangy ribs.

Around these parts the Red Pig Inn is well-known for their sauce and Tony's out
of Findlay is also a veteran to this event......for more info go to
www.ottawaribfest.com to get more of a feel for what is offered....and then again
in Putnam Co. you can't have ANYTHING if you don't have beer and a band....this
year a great band called Smoke N Guns will be playing for your enjoyment. Free
cab service is also provided to those who have had too much to drink so there
really isn't a good reason not to make the trek to Ottawa this Saturday.

And of course the Rocketman and his Mrs. will be there in all of our finery from
about 5pm or so....The weather is going to be absolutely gorgeous this weekend,
and there is no chance of rain.....so whether you come by car, van, truck,
motorcycle, golf cart, bicycle, by foot, or since it is located right on the banks
of the Blanchard (and no, Ottawa's not flooded right now!) by boat......it is a
short and easy drive for a lot of our members.......RM
