Thoughts? I can see both going either way. Can MC keep pouring goals in?

I'll take Swanton due to their tougher road.

I fully expect MC to win tonight, and then waltz into the state semi's.

Well formercoach, you got your classic public-private matchup with state on the line. Prediction?

With Mansfield Christian putting up 120+ goals coming in and Ft. Jennings at a 2.38 GAA I would have to give this one to Mansfield. They got a lot of goals against tough teams but their schedule overall stronger and they shouldn't have trouble. I'm giving this one to Mansfield 4-1

34 in 2 games? Seriously?

Don't get me wrong, I believe they will win this game, and it may end up being 4-1.

I'm not very familiar with their schedule who were the tough teams the scored a lot of goals on?

The have a relatively tough schedule and they run up scores on the bad teams (Ada and tiffin Calvert) but the fact they can put up 16 or 18 goals in a game is impressive for anyone who knows the game.

Now it's relatively tough? Make up your mind.

16/18 a game happens all the time. Saw a team put 23 or another just a few years ago. Scoring 16/18 on a bad team shows nothing to ANYONE that knows ANYTHING ABOUT THIS GAME. Trust me I know a little about it.

I'm not saying that you don't. The way I see it is that Mansfield is a high paced offense with lots of scoring threats. They have 5 guys who have 8 goals or more. Even taking into account the blowout tournament games they have a lot of people who can score. After seeing Ft. Jennings play I think that it will be hard for them to contain Mansfield.

The fact MC scored 16 and 18 goals on Calvert and Ada was pretty classless, in my opinion. Leaving in starters for large parts of the game when absolutely nothing good could be gained from it, other than showing up the opponent.

With that said, MC has put up goals on several good teams. 6 against Youngstown Cardinal Mooney, 4 against a very stingy Riverdale team, 4 against Clear Fork. Again - good teams, but not great teams. In games against their tougher opposition, they have not been scoring more than 2-3 goals a game.

Earlier I said I expected MC to waltz into the state semi's. On second thought, after seeing Ft. Jennings this year and looking at their run of form/style of play, I could see Saturday being a very tough and competitive game. It is not on turf, which will slow down MC's attack. It should be cold, windy and possibly wet - all things that play into FJ's favor when you look at their ability to "pack it in" a little and look for counters. They have some very good, fast, scrappy athletes up front who could cause problems for MC's back line with the counterattack.

With all that said, I still expect MC to win, with a late insurance goal. My prediction of a final score MC 3-1 FJ.

MC scored 12 seconds in & 7x total in the first 13 minutes vs. Ada. They only added 2 more by halftime & had 7 total players score... I think they did let up.
During the regular season is one thing, but come tournaments, I can't fault MC. What were they supposed to do, play starters 10mins in each of the first 2 matches and then go against Riverdale (which was a 2-0 regular match) having played 20 minutes in a 2-week span? That's not realistic. It's very unfortunate for Calvert and Ada, but being they had district finals next to prepare for, I can't fault them for trying to get their guys some in-game action.

7 goals in 13 minutes is very impressive on any team

MC could have kept their starters in, but not run up the score. It's a pretty simple concept that even u10 and 12s understand, just up to the coach to implement. Players play as the coach coaches....
