If your girls hit three homers last night, I'd say they were on the good side of that strong wind that was a-blowin'. Our Bath girls were in Elida, so I was unable to witness the Continental Crushers. I see they are winning more games, so all that youth seems to be growing up.
as for my ruling, I will curtail any future smartass responses as to avoid the wrath of the Continental parents......... Which is also a mighty wind.

Ill say this: These posts have indicated that you guys are a young team. Your improvement over the year is a good sign for things to come. High batting averages don't usually come with young players.

You mean no more PIRATE SOFTBALL threads, complaining about players, fans, parents??? Good.
You mean no more outbursts by players, on the field, during the game, at the umpires?? Good.

That may be true, but the opposite can be said for the girls schedule. Their non-conference is so tough it makes the WBL pretty easy. That's why when you see 5 of their girls hitting over .400, it's a hard earned accurate average. The only patsy in there was Ottoville.

Well, where do I start? First, there is too much of an emphesis on boys basketball at Bath. In the lower levels (5,6, & 7th grade) the same dads that coach baseball coach basketball. The last few years, the Cairo guys have cut short baseball travel games to play basketball. I'm not saying one sport is more important than another, but you make a choice. We choose basketball even though we chronically suck at the varsity level. Those boys in 5th, 6th, and 7th grade need to see as many swings as possible befor ethey get to jr. high. Secondly, we need to drop jr. high baseball and get a club team for the better players in 7th and 8th grade. As for the schedule, at least we can't blame the new coach for the weak schedule. It was in place before he got there.
(By the way Continental fans, sorry for talking Bath topic on your thread. You guys gat so many of them I figured you wouldn't mind)

its been that way for at least 15 years. you count all those kids now and you will be lucky to get 10% of them to committ themselves for 4 years in high school. it doesnt matter what sport it is football, basketball, baseball. if we are putting emphasis on basketball, bath boys sports are in real real trouble. davis will be gone once his kid graduates, thankfully. I just hope these coaches teach better than they coach. coaching boys sports at a loser school like bath is nothing more than an ego trip for the great majority of them. it isnt for the money im sure, it takes you away from family (unless daddy is coach) and they must know deep in their heart they cant win consistantly. a .500 record at bath is like .250 in reality with the dumbed down schedules. (excluding football). Bath has 2 coaches that have the right formula but why dont the rest of them use it? PATHETIC.

Who do the Pirates have to play in the PCL, yet? I think they beat all of the toughest teams already.
