I like RMs post.......

but I can't help but wonder if OSU's AD Smith knew about this all along and has been in touch with Mayer about his taking the job at OSU because of this and this is the reason Mayer resigned in Gator Land. While in Fla last week we went to Bird Key (Off Lido Key)
where Tressel's home is. Truly Beautiful and it would be a great place to retire (or hide out) if it comes to this. All in all ~I hope Tressel stays!

For at least the first 5 games ( and maybe longer ?), Luke Fickell
will serve as the Buckeye's interim coach.

ESPN had reports of some new allegations...........I don't know where this is all going to end
but every day that OSU lets this drag on without addressing the issues it will continue to get
messy.........it is never good for a program to be continually on the front page for something
such as this..........I know I am getting tired of it, but unfortunately the rest of the country can
smell blood in the water and the sharks are gathering..........

even read on Yahoo today where a 375 lb. mako shark jumped into a boat down in Florida....
when the sharks are coming out of the water, you know it's getting serious wink.gif

Yeah, the longer this drags on and the more things come out. I hope Tressell will be able to stay, but he hasn't learned like Calipari, to have an assistant for a fall guy to save his job on things of this nature. tongue.gif

My question is now with all this coming out. Does Pryor even bother staying around? I can see him taking his money and running.
Not that his draft rate would be high. But if Tressell goes down, will he be wanted on the team?

As I stated previously, Ohio State should cut its losses, fire or let Coach Tressel resign, sooner rather than later. Boot the five offenders from the team. Vacate all of 2010 season as well as the 2011 Bowl game and hope the NCAA doesn't yank 20-30 scholarships.

I disagree with Rocketman on this issue.....

1. Tressel received 3 emails from an attorney alerting him about the players peddling championship rings for tatoos from a individual under federal investigation and choose to do nothing. Both email and phone records for both AD Smith and President Gee were investigated and no record of contact with Tessel during the time period of the three emails was found.

2. He signed his annual NCAA questionare stating he was aware of absolutely no potential NCAA violations among his players.

His acts of hypocrisy should cost him his job although one would hope he has enough remaining integrity to "let OSU off the hook on dismissing him" by resigning.

I echo the above sentiments. This type of thing has gone at OSU since JT's arrival and he blew it off. He THOUGHT it would go away or never come to light so he kept his mouth shut.

Mr. Munch is a bigger tool than the host.........he knows nothing more
than what has been posted on hundreds of websites around the
country......remember this, Coach Tressel WINS football games....
OSU hasn't forgot who and how the former coach was replaced before
Tressel came to Cbus......IF they were sure of the Urban Legend
coming out of retirement to take the position they might think of it......

Conventional wisdom says he gets a few more games tacked on, OSU gives up
some 2010 wins, they lose some scholarships, and he makes a public apology...
(one this time that the average joe will believe)........

after that it is back to business.........and folks, that is what it is......A Business
and at OSU it is BIG BUSINESS......what he did went against everything that
he has preached since he arrived......this stuff goes on at all big-time programs....
ALL.......they got caught, they will serve their penalty for getting caught, and in 3-4
years after he puts another couple Big 10 titles, BCS bowl games, etc. in the books, everyone
will forget all about this............zooooom

They'll get there, but right now they are dug in down in Columbus.

The players who are guilty need to be gone as well. Losing all their scholarships and should be forced to pay back the scholarship money they have recieved to this date. Unless they sink some teeth into this, college athletes will do this sort of thing again and again.

The busiest places in America today are car dealerships near D-I campuses and the local DMV's with all of the title switching that is happening. When this investigation started it was clear that Tressel should have stepped down right then.
