How many schools out there are allowed to use thier gym on Sundays? Late afternoon or early evening.

Elida runs a hitting league throughout the whole fall and winter, which runs all the way until the first week of practice in the spring.

They have a huge indoor cage that they set up in the Fieldhouse.

The league is on Sundays, but if I remember correctly, the players can hit whenever they wish......I cannot assure that though lol

Thanks, The school won't let us use it on Wed nites ( church day ), and Sunday's ( family day and church day ). That only leaves a few days to throw or hit. Only one gym that is big enough. How many other schools are allowed to open thier gym up on Sundays or Wednesday's? I need some input so I can bring this back to the school. No we are not a Catholic or church driven school.

We also cannot use the gym on Sundays unless there are unusual circumstances. We have 2 gyms in a K-12 building so you have to compete with jr high as well as elementary basketball league. Also, we have no where to put the cage that wouldn't interfere with basketball so our cage is not available until the 1st full week of March. Also we have to compete with the choir/band and spring play since our stage is in the gym where the cage is so our cage comes down in early April and doesn't get put back up.

I feel your pain!!!

I forgot -- we also have the Wednesday night thing.

Everything must be over and the kids gone by 6 because of church night.

Fort Jennings now has 3 full size floors. The old gym is now mainly soccer and baseball. The batting cage is up year around and soccer uses it for open gym during the winter. Its open for school athletic teams 7 days a week.

3 Gyms that must be nice, we have 3 gyms to, 2 of them are to small to even play catch let alone anything else and the big gym we can't even get on the main floor. But the important part is we now can have open gyms on Sundays, not much room, but it's a start.

I have heard we cannot use our gym hardly ever...It must be nice to have a school that you could do that at and not have someone complaing all the time...Maybe baseball programs could get a little better if we could use it...

Are your basketball players aloud to come or do they have to wait till their season is over?

We do not have Sunday practice in season or out of season. We also have a deadline that we must be out of the gym at a certain time on Wednesdays. Coaches have tried to have open hitting twice a week but with limited space they mostly lift and run.

No basketball players participate. At FR-the cage is in the balcony, so actually basketball practice can go on while they are hitting-but the coaches don't like the noise, I guess.
