SIAP. Early thoughts, heading into Week 10? McComb the favorite. Hicksville looks to be 2nd seed with Lucas more than likely the 3rd.

I would not be surprised if Hicksville doesn't make it there. In any case, it is McComb's to lose.
I also expect all the lower seeded teams are licking their chops at the prospect of playing Lucas.

According to records right now, they have played two teams with winning records. The first was a win over Centerburg (5-4) 30-14, the second Lucas lost 41-0 to Danville.
They also play teams without true varsity schedule (Fostoria St. Wendelin, and Beallsville)

So highly doubtful they will win a playoff game, even in a weak region.

McComb is a definite #1 and I would probably agree that Hicksville is #2 ........and they may be in the region finals.

But, I think McComb would win that match up by 3 TDs.

Time will tell!

Well if it's any consolation, shadyside might get in at 4-6.

[cliche] That's why they play the game [/cliche]

Pretty sure they thought they'd railroad Hicksville a couple years ago...

Hicksville's coach Lucus Smith always finds a way to get the best out of his players though... it usually takes a team with an obvious talent and skill advantage to comfortably beat them

I wouldn't totally disagree with you D-Browns. I think after Liberty-Benton beat LCC in 2011 a lot of folks thought they would beat Hicksville as well. Hicksville utilized their QB to the max in that game and beat LB 20-13.

But in this case (vs. McComb).......I think Coach Alge is a pretty good ball coach himself and he has the horses to ride them to wk15. I may come back to regret this statement (:)) but region 24 should only be a speed bump in McComb's road to state.

JMHO!

In looking at their volume of work in 2015:

McComb is 9-1. Their only loss was to perennial power Marion Local by a tight score of 24-22. They have since reeled off 8 straight wins by an avg score of 46-2. In that path was PG (5-4) Hopewell (6-3) and (an improved during the season) Van Buren (6-3).

Hicksville is 7-2. They got beat by a good Tinora team 47-6. They lost to a 4-5 Archbold, beat Edgerton (3-5) by only 2pts in overtime and won another overtime game vs. Ayersville. They also beat a 3-6 Fairview 14-7.

For sure games are not played on paper, but you gotta lean toward the Panthers if these two matchup in week 13.

It was close. Swap Leipsic and Hilltop and you have your top 8.

I have done a little research and am gonna go out on a short limb and give my final 4 teams in D-7 McComb out of the northwest, Mogadore out of the northeast, Shadyside No just kidding Danville out of the south east, and Minster out of the southwest. And unless the state would happen to do it the right way this yr McComb and Minster will meet in the semi final game and the championship game will end as a blow out by whoever wins the McComb Minster game. Just my 2 cents worth McComb and Minster both lost to Marion Local and Minster also lost to Coldwater so even though they lost 2 games they were both to eventual state championship teams. As I think Coldwater and Marion Local will both repeat as champs. I know they don't play the games on paper but this is how I see it working out.
