On a night where a newly renovated stadium was presented to the Lake community, Northwood rolls down Lemoyne Rd and over the Flyers 29-2.

Emotion filled is an understatement. Last night Lake unvieled its newly renovated and newly named facility to its community.

We all should know the Lake story but I will give you a quick reminder. June 5th 2010 was the night some powerful storms rolled thru NW Ohio. One particular cell moved thru Fulton and Wood county spawning Tornados. An EF4 tornado came out of one storm and traveld right down SR795. In the path was Lake High School. That tornado demolished the school sending debris all over including between 12-15 inched deep into the football field soil.

7 people perished from that storm, but the Lake community pulled together to pick up the pieces. They had to tear up the field, replace the scoreboard and the visitor stands. Maumee Bay Turf came in to lay a brand new field turf playing surface. It is normally a 3-4 month job and they completed it in less then 2 months.

Pregame dedications and thank you's brought the sell out crowd to their feet. First responders from neighboring communities lined the field.

You could feel the emotion from the Lake players as they took the field. And it showed in their play as the contest was a defensive struggle in the first half. Northwood pounded out a tough 12-0 lead at the half.

Second half started with a safety by the Flyer defense. That was the only scoring in the 3rd .

Then the Ranger offense came to life scoring 17 points in the 4th quarter.

Lake struggled to get anything going on offense all night. Flyer QB Nathan Pennington passed for 99 yards and Ben Swartz rushed for just 27 yards.

Northwood's Zach Bermejo rushed for 158 yards and 4td's as the Ranger improve to 2-0.

Lake falls to 1-1 on the season.

The field at Lake Community Stadium is beautiful and the nes scoreboard, stands, and concessions are as well. What a great feeling it was last night to be able to see two communities seperated by just a couple miles come together to celebrate and remeber all those involved.
