Any one who has ever played at ada knows there reffs are HORRIBLE! ! also, 5-1 is a blow out. and 4 out of 5 is just straight up outstanding shooting.... I agree with man u fan about most of the schedule but they will be lima senior and will be upper imo.

Also i forgot to add i think bluffton will be the team to surprise people this year. They might have lost A LOT to graduation but they still have a very good sophomore class coming and a pretty dang good goalie in freeman. I don't see them beating the really high caliber teams but will still have a record over .500

5-1 is not a blow out when the team that lost controlled the field of play for the entire game other than goals right off of the bat. BTW: that is the ONLY game Ada has lost to Cory.

Ada has never had a losing record, and I doubt that this year will be their first. Like everyone else, they will step up like they usually do during the season.

Ada has never had a losing record because they only play 5 to 6 decent teams a year. They need to schedule some tougher non conference teams. And thats why when they get to tournaments they never go very far.

Be careful talking too much on here Manfan, you show off your lack of knowledge too swiftly.

Who around the area schedules 16 TOUGH teams every year?

Please let us know HOW to get on those tough team's schedules as well. Do you know how many times Ada has tried to get on better teams' schedules? Finally after 7 years, Bluffton concedes to do so. WBL teams won't play Ada as they have nothing to gain. Kalida and FJ? Their schedules are pretty set as they play a lot of PCL teams and then WBL teams.

Ada also has Bluffton and OG to run into in sectionals when if they would have been in the sectional with the other NCOSA teams, they would have won it every year. Look at the runs that Old Fort, Riverdale, and Van Buren made in the past few years, a lot of that had to do with WEAK sectionals--especially Old Fort.

And finally, please let me know how to make those other teams better. Ada has never lost to Van Buren, especially during their great years when they went far in the tourney (VB). Yet now VB is rebuilding and so beating them is to be expected. WHose fault is that?

If you didn't think that Ada's teams in the past were VERY good, then you didn't see them play.

Let me know what SUPER TOUGH team you root for and please list their schedule.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!

Been a while homes! This topic had to make me laugh. Ada is a perennial DIII power in the NW. Other than Kalida, FJ, and Bluffton, who can boast a better team in the past five years?????? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM????????????????
Cut em some slack, I know the past coach tried to get the schedule toughened evry year. What can you do when the AD doesnt get it done? What do you do when your league teams stink? What about when teams hit bottom and stay there? Like a Temple or a New Knoxville. At least NK got dumped.
I recall when Van Buren went to state semis a few years past. Ada went to their place and controlled the game. Believe it was 3-3? The Feter and Pifer boys were only freshman. Noy bad for young pups against a veteran (and foreign--HA!) VB team.

sarcasm.gif heh...oh yea...we all forgot that the next decade belongs to cory.....even thought they did get a hard earned third place, dont count ada out.....the monkey isnt on our back anymore....please.....under estimate all you want, we'll see what happens on the pitch....come november i could either be eating crow or say....told ya so....im not saying that ada will win the ncosa.....but you count them out already...your making a helluva mistake......i just dont think its fair to degrade another team when they've beatin you fair and square many times....instead of sitting here tring to plead your case against ada....why dont you go grab a ball and start practicing more....thats where it really counts....

BJS, the last five years I'd put OG up there too, but they may not count anymore pending new enrollment #'s. Also I'd put Genoa, Ottawa Hills and MVCD up there to since we're talking NW Ohio D3 teams.

Perennial POWER? May be a bit strong of a characterization. Sure they cannot do much about the schedule, but list for me the last 5 years worth of tournament results....

2006 lost 3-0 to OG in the Sectionals
2005 ?
2004 ?
2003 ?
2002 ?

Sorry Cory fans imo, powerhouse is a pipe dream.

Formercoach, no one schedules 16 tough teams a year. All I' m saying is that Ada only has 6-7 teams a year that they play that are any good. The rest are easy wins for the most part. Yes they can't control the teams in the league unless they find another league to get in to, but thats highly doubtfull in the near future. Old Fort, Mohawk, Calvert and Upper have always been terrible and VB now has dropped into that category without having all the foreign exchange students that they used to have play for them. Riverdale, Ada and C-R are the only decent teams right now. And the non conference schedule is getting better than it used to be so atleast thats a start. I would just like to see them pick up atleast 2-3 better programs. And I realize its hard to do if the coach wants to get tougher teams and the AD can't get it done.

Your comment about the sectionals proves a point of mine. You said "Ada also has Bluffton and OG to run into in sectionals when if they would have been in the sectional with the other NCOSA teams, they would have won it every year. Look at the runs that Old Fort, Riverdale, and Van Buren made in the past few years, a lot of that had to do with WEAK sectionals--especially Old Fort." I agree completely with you on this. This just goes to show that they can beat the bad teams, when they come up against good teams they don't as well because they aren't used to that kind of competition throughout the regular season. If they were in the weaker sectionals they probably would have advanced further but as soon as they would have come up against the better teams they would have been gone just the same.

I thought when Fetter and Pifer were seniors that they were going to make a good run through the tournament, but for whatever reason that didnt happen.

I wish Ada the best of luck this year, but I just don't see them doing as well as in the past. But next year they should get back on top of things again.

BJ Studd, calling Ada a perenial D3 power in NW Ohio is a bit much.

I would put Riverdale, Kalida, FJ, O-G, Genoa, MVCD, Ottawa Hills, Bluffton and Toledo Christian above Ada.

Now if Ada had done anything in the tournament over the past couple years I would probably have them above a couple teams.

Oh and by the way congrats on the 3-3 tie about 5 years ago against VB. It must have been a heck of an acomplishment for you to bring it up this many years later.

Speedy, I have a hunch that your not going to be senior next year at CR so more than likely your a junior who likes to talk alot. This year you should be able to back up most of that talk, but next year when you lose pretty much your entire team you will drop back down to an average team and Ada will be the better team again and look for your senior year to be a dissapointing one. So enjoy it while you can because after this year CR will be down for awhile.

go_ada_bulldogs, you have had CR's number the past several years and this year may be different, but don't worry about it you will back to normal next year and CR will have its good team this year and we will see what happens from there.

goin2goal, Genoa might move up to D2 this year too with 211 boys. It all depends on where the cutoff is. And in 2005 I think Ada lost to Bluffton in the tourny after going undefeated in the regular season. Not sure about the years before that.

good observations manfan, but let me tell u a little information that you may not know. I have played all my life and we have met Ada in many many tournys in my past, and i cant remember a time when they beat us out of a W. We had 2 freshmen letterers last year and this year we had 6 or 7 freshmen and sophmores combined in that. Now, my senior year (2009) also graduating with clum i believe will be an ok year and i think enough to beat Ada. Now, After my years are through, the underclassmen prob. will not pick up the slack. we have a very weak soccer program after 2009, but lets just get back to this year and worry about next year a few months from now.

Manfan, Ada is 2-0 against Genoa since they have had soccer.

By putting Riverdale above them shows you know NO history between the two teams. Other than last year, Riverdale has beaten Ada once, 3-1. ALl the other years have either been a 1-1 tie, OR Ada winning, PLease tell me how that makes Riverdale better?

Again, you have not answered the question of which team you root for.

You sure have a lot of talk.

What years did ada beat genoa? I don't remember them playing the last couple of years.

I rank Riverdale above you because they play a tougher schedule than you and they have made better runs in the tournament. Plus the coach over there knows what it takes to have a good program and that gives them an edge to me. I don't really care or know what the head to head match ups have been between you and them. I've seen them play several times and my opinion is that they have a better program than you. I'm sorry that you don't agree, but all your wins against weak teams in the regular season and failure to do anything in the tourny just doesn't impress me all that much.

Since you can't figure it out on your own I root for Manchester United.
